COVID update
Hi families! I wanted to remind you of how to proceed if someone tests positive for COVID. They should quarantine for 5 days. They may return if they are fever free for 24 hours and do not have symptoms. It is also recommended that they wear a mask for 5 more days once they return without symptoms. Take care!

PARENT TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
Warm seasons greetings to you all. I hope this finds you well.
Before the winter break, if you would be so kind as to include this promotional flyer in the virtual backpacks and newsletters at your schools, CATCH would be grateful. We are hosting an event next month for all parents in our community.
We are very excited to welcome Michelle Icard to Northbrook!
Michelle's latest book, "8 Setbacks That Can Make a Child a Success" is
getting a wonderful national response. I spoke with her personally on a zoom call and I think her easy going, humorous and approachable style will make for a fun and very informative evening. Michelle will also take questions and sign books to be sold at the event by The Book Bin.
WHAT: Turning Your Child's Setbacks Into Success
An in-person conversation with Michelle Icard.
WHEN: Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Northbrook United Methodist Church, 1190 Western Ave.
WHO: Appropriate for parents of children of all ages
Registration is encouraged.
Thank you very much for sharing this flyer and event information with your school families. We look forward to welcoming our community in!
Best regards and Happy Holidays!

X-Large Cardboard Boxes
Cardboard boxes - x-large in size needed for STEAM project for after break
As this is the season for great deals on large appliances and items, if you remember to keep the boxes, Mr. White would be so grateful. He is preparing for a surprise STEAM project for after the winter break that will require lots and lots and lots of large cardboard boxes. If you happen to have empty large to extremely large boxes laying around, please consider donating them to NSAE for an upcoming STEAM project. Thanks in advance!

The Principal's Pound
The best part of being a community is celebrating! The school was decorated for winter and with every classroom participating, we had to bring in some fun and laughter to go with the winners. On Wednesday afternoon right before dismissal, each class chose a staff member who agreed to being pied in the face. The amount of cheering, squeals, and pure glee was heard and experienced across the building. Here are a few pictures to show the smiles on those who were pied.
As always, please let me know how I can help you as an individual or family, so we can be the best supportive team for your student!
Enjoy your week ahead!
