Business Professionals of America (BPA)
BPA Members Compete at National Conference
April 26 – 29; Blaine BPA had 39 members compete at the National BPA Conference (NLC) held in Anaheim, California. They competed in a variety of events with others from across the country, Canada, China, and Puerto Rico who qualified through their State Conferences to compete at NLC. Students left this conference with experience as conference interns, networking skills, Ambassador Torch Award Recipients, National BPA Award Winners, became certified in a variety of areas, and made memories to last a lifetime. They were also able to connect with the National BPA Executive Director/CEO Steven J. Mitchell.
As a Chapter, Blaine BPA received the Community Service Award as well as a Marketing and Public Relations Certificate of Achievement.
Alexandra Nwameme, Shriya Sunil, and Regan Osumo received Ambassador Torch Awards. There was an issue with the system this year and we would also like to recognize the following students as they worked hard to achieve this award as well: Toni Adeogun, Aji Anjorin, Alec Harris, Dylan Ruto, Michelle Musa, and Reema Krishnan.

Senior Final Plan Survey
By June 2, all seniors should complete the Final Decision Survey in their Naviance account by following these steps:
1. Students - Log into Blaine High School with the lock and key
2. Click on the Naviance Icon
3. Go under the About Me tab and click on Surveys From Your School
4. Click on CLASS OF 2023 SENIOR PLAN/FINAL TRANSCRIPT SURVEY
Note: All colleges and the NCAA/NAIA require a final high school transcript as part of their enrollment. Without completing this step, your enrollment at college could be delayed.
* Students must complete this from their Naviance account. It cannot be completed through parent accounts.*
University in Germany Information Night – virtual event Thursday, May 11 6-7pm
The German American Institute and DAAD are hosting a virtual Study in Germany Info Session for teachers and families with upper middle school to high school students on May 11, 2023 from 6pm-7pm. More information can be found here and the flyer can be accessed here.

MN Private Colleges Week
Held the last full week of June each year, Minnesota Private Colleges Week is a great way for students to discover what they're looking for in a college. Our 18 private nonprofit institutions offer short introductory sessions Monday through Friday, and students and families can choose to visit any combination of colleges during the week.
The 2023 event will be held June 26 to June 30 with visit sessions beginning at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Registration opens on May 1. View 2023 session schedule.
Attention Juniors!
The eighth annual Camp College event will be held in-person at the University of Minnesota Crookston! Camp College is a FREE program designed for current high school juniors (graduating class of 2024) who would benefit from a college readiness program. Students from rural areas, first-generation college students and students from low-income households are encouraged to apply! Sessions focusing on financial aid, college resources, and the application process (among others) will be offered. Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win multiple prizes!
Housing and meals for Camp College are provided for all attendees at no cost. Campers are responsible for their own transportation to the University of Minnesota Crookston.

Art Therapy Discovery Day at Adler Graduate School- May 13
Students with an interest in the visual arts and helping professions are invited to this event. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn about the mental health profession of art therapy. There will be experiential activities, a panel discussion, art exhibit, tours of the Art Therapy Bus, and a silent auction. Attendees can gain information about art therapy education as well as connect with providers of art therapy services. This event will offer guidance on how to prepare for this type of career. - Graduating senior (class of 2023)
- Minimum 2.0 GPA (unweighted)
- Demonstrated financial need
- Aspire Scholars plan to start college full-time in Fall 2023 at Dunwoody College of Technology
- Opportunity Scholars plan to start college full-time in Fall 2023 at a partner community college
- The HealthPartners Pathway is designed to serve students pursuing a two-year degree with the intent to pursue a full-time position with HealthPartners upon graduation.
- Mortenson Pathway is designed to serve students planning to start college full-time in Fall 2023 at Dunwoody College of Technology with a degree in:

Senior Class Party
Class of 2023 - Senior All Night Party, Sunday June 4th, 9pm - 3am
The evening of commencement, let's have some fun and celebrate! The event will be held at Bowlero from 9pm - 3am and the cost is $125 until May 15th.
