NEW ALBANY PRIMARY SCHOOL
November 6, 2023
DEAR PRIMARY FAMILIES,
Welcome to November! We have many exciting things planned this month including our Veterans Day assemblies, fall parties, and parent-teacher conferences. Last Friday we held a practice safety drill so students and staff could practice safety procedures. We would like to thank our district campus security, school resource officers, and the New Albany Police Department for their partnership in keeping our schools safe. Students do such a fantastic job remembering our B3’s-Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Responsible!
VETERANS DAY
This Friday, November 10 the Primary School will be holding school-wide assemblies to recognize veterans in celebration of Veterans Day. We pause to honor those who have served our nation and protect our freedom through the armed forces. Students in all grade levels have prepared poetry and songs to perform, and patriotic art will be displayed.
Thank you, Veterans!
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held the week of November 13. Please sign up with your classroom teacher.
Conferences are an opportunity for families and teachers to share successes, progress, and opportunities for growth. Our goal at the Primary School is to meet with every single family to discuss each child’s progress!

LOST AND FOUND
Lost and Found season is here - in full force! The days are getting cooler and students are dressing in layers. If your child has the tendency to leave any personal belongings behind, please write their name on the tag of their outerwear, and remind them to look for their missing item in our Lost and Found! If your child packs his/her lunch or carries a water bottle, please also remind them to collect their items from the playground before heading into the building and/or check Lost and Found if they have misplaced anything. Parents are welcome to look for lost items when they visit NAPS for fall conferences.
STUDENT ILLNESS
As the weather changes, cold and flu season comes too! We hope for our Primary students to be at school every day, but there are times when illness requires them to stay home. If you are unsure if your child can attend school, please refer to this page from the district website through Health Services.
If your child must stay home due to illness, please call or email our attendance hotline to report their illness.
