Mr. Hiti's Message

Fall conferences will be held on October 10th, 12th and 17th from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. October 10th and 12th will be in-person for all grades, and the 17th will be virtual. Conference sign-ups will be available starting the week of October 2. 5th and 6th grade conferences will take place with your child’s homeroom teacher and will be 15-minute conferences. 7th and 8th grade conferences will be arena style where you drop in and meet with the teachers you would like to see. If 7th and 8th grade parents would like to do virtual conferences only, they will need to sign up in the time blocks that are available for October 17th with the understanding that they may not get a chance to meet with all teachers, as time blocks are limited and fill up quickly.

Don't forget to ask your daughter/son what they are currently reading!

Fall Conferences

Conferences will take place twice per year and we offer the option to attend in-person or virtually.

Conference sign-ups begin on Monday, October 2nd.

In-Person Conference Dates: October 10 and 12, 2023 from 3:30-7:30 p.m.

Virtual Conference Dates: October 17, 2023 from 3:30-7:30 p.m.

If your student is in...

Grade 5/6: book a conference with your student's homeroom teacher only. You may choose in-person or virtual, but either way you will need to book an appointment using the teacher's calendar appointment links (in the document below and sent to your email.) Please indicate if you will need interpretation.

Grade 7/8: conference with any or all of your student's teachers. In-person conferences will be drop-in style anytime between 3:30-7:30 p.m. on October 10 and 12. If you want to conference virtually, you must book an appointment with any or all of your student's teachers using the teacher's calendar appointment links (in the document below and sent to your email.) Please indicate if you will need interpretation. If your student has the same teacher for two subjects (for example: PLTW and Science, or AVID and Social Studies), please book 2 separate virtual appointments.

Friendly Hills Clubs, Teams, & Activities

Walk & Bike to School Day

Minnesota Safe Routes to School is looking forward to the 27th annual Walk (and Bike) to School Day on Wednesday, October 4th. This is a fun, community-focused day to celebrate healthy habits and the neighborhood we're part of. Encourage your kids to safely walk or bike ride to school, or in their neighborhood after the school day ends.

Friendly Hills PTA

Hispanic Heritage Month Movie Night

FHMS students are welcome to attend Movie Night in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month on Thursday, October 5th to view A Million Miles Away, the true story of NASA flight engineer José Hernández. This is a free event where concessions are available for purchase. The movie starts at 6:00 p.m. in the multi-purpose gym. Parents/guardians: please register here if your student(s) will attend.

Middle School Dance Team

Middle School Dance Team registration is open for 5th and 6th grade students through October 13th or until the team is full. You must have a physical on file with the school in order to register. Click this link to learn more and begin registration. Practices begin October 17th after school at Friendly Hills.

Washington, D.C. Trip - Parent Meeting

Parents of students attending the Washington, D.C. trip in April 2024 are invited to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 3rd from 7-8 p.m. in the Friendly Hills cafeteria.

Technology Resources

Teen Mental Health Study

Participants are needed for a University of Minnesota study about teen mental health. Adolescents from 13-18 years old and their parents are invited to participate in individual interviews about their thoughts on teen mental health and how to help teens feel happier & less stressed. Warrior 5K

This Saturday, September 30th is the Warrior 5K, Warrior Rally, and Makers Market at Two Rivers High School. The 14th annual Warrior 5K run/walk is a family event supporting the ISD 197 Education Foundation. After the 5K, join us on Stielow Field for games, bouncy houses, food trucks, music, and community-building at the Warrior Rally. The Makers Market craft fair is held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the Two Rivers High School gym.
