Husky-Tastic Summer Learning News

Buses will be running their full routes for summer learning.

Please have your child at their bus stop a few minutes early for the normal MORNING schedule.

For the afternoon route, buses will depart at 1:00 p.m. Please plan accordingly to have an adult at the bus stop.

Students will participate in the following stations each day.

7:30-8:00 Arrival

7:45 Breakfast

8:00-8:15 Morning Meeting/ PAX Goal and Vision

8:15- 8:45 Station 1

8:50-9:20 Station 2

9:25-9:55 Gym/ Brain Break/ Movement Activity

10:00- 10:30 Station 3

10:35- 11:05 Station 4

11:05-12:00 Presentations, Enrichment, Outside Activities, etc.

12:00-1:00 Lunch and Recess/ Pick-Up

Stations will include: Math, Reading, STEAM / Art, Technology

Each student will take a pre and post assessment to calculate growth from the Summer Learning session.

Parents are encouraged to attend the field trips with us. If you would like to ride the bus, please indicate that on the permission form.

We will visit Appalachian Glass and Mountaineer Military Museum with a packed lunch at the Lewis County Park.

We will depart HES - 8:30 a.m.

We will return to HES by 12:15 p.m. - Students will be able to ride their bus home.

Students will be provided a packed lunch, They may bring their own lunch in disposable containers.

We will travel to Bulltown Historical Area in Braxton County.

We will depart HES at 8:30 a.m. and return to HES at 1:30 p.m.

STUDENTS WILL NEED PARENT TRANSPORTATION HOME. Please plan to have an adult at HES by 1:30 p.m. to transport your child home.

Students will be provided a packed lunch. They may bring their own lunch in disposable containers.

We will travel to the WV Capitol and WV State Museum in Charleston.

We will depart HES at 8:30 a.m. and return to HES approximately 3:00 p.m.

STUDENTS WILL NEED PARENT TRANSPORTATION HOME. Please plan to have an adult at HES by 3:00 p.m. to transport your child home.

Lunch will be Papa Johns pizza with sides provided by Miss Sherri. Students may bring their own lunch in a disposable container.

We will go to the Splash Zone in Clarksburg.

We will depart HES at 11:00 a.m. and return at 3:00 p.m.

STUDENTS WILL NEED PARENT TRANSPORTATION HOME. Please plan to have an adult at HES by 3:00 p.m. to transport your child home.

Lunch will be a packed lunch. Students may bring their own lunch and snacks in a disposable container.

Our trip will be to Blackwater Falls State Park in Davis, WV.

We will depart HES at 8:30 a.m. and return at 3:00 p.m.

Our Goal:

Hodgesville Elementary School will have an increase of at least 1.0 GE growth for 40% of our students as based on beginning of the year to end of the year data for 2021 – 2022 end of year assessments for Math and English Language Arts.
