A Note from the Principal
As we approach the end of 2022, I want to take this opportunity to first, thank the community, parents, caregivers, students, and staff for helping this school year get off to a tremendous start. It is with great pride that I look back at the accomplishments our students have achieved both socially and academically. They have worked hard, and I am so proud to be part of such an amazing school.
This season gives us all some time to reflect on our year and the many things that have brought us happiness and joy. Together, have been able to overcome challenges, and we continue to strive for excellence every day. Our theme this year, “Build.Connect.Develop” is something our wonderful staff strive for each day. Every student on this campus matters, and we continue to work hard to ensure that all students feel safe, feel accepted, and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
I would like to wish all our Audubon Families a safe and happy holiday season. It is amazing to me that we are closing out 2022 and we look forward to continued success in 2023. Winter break begins on Thursday, December 22nd with classes resuming on Thursday, January 5th. Even though the holidays can be busy, please take time to read with your child every day and make some lasting memories. Have a wonderful break and we’ll see you in 2023!
Blessings,
Mrs. Jones
Eat Lunch With Your Student
Parents and Families,
I am happy to share some good news with you. Starting on Friday, September 16th, and every Friday after that, you will be able to eat lunch with your child(ren). Here is what you need to do if you want to eat lunch with your child:
- Make sure you notify your child’s teacher that you are eating lunch with them, so they can meet you at the tables. If you send an email, please do so in enough time for the teacher to see it before lunch.
- Only Parents and Legal Guardians can eat lunch with their own child(ren).
- Sign in as a Visitor in the Front Office and obtain a yellow name badge (you are not volunteering; you are visiting for lunch).
- You will report to the courtyard and wait on your child. The teacher will release your child to this area when he/she is taking his/her students to lunch.
- This area will be supervised during the entire lunch period.
- If you are not a registered volunteer, you will need to be escorted on and off campus by a staff member.
Every Friday will be available for parent/child lunch. We have limited seating, so you need to sign up through sign-up genius. The link for that is below:

Once again, I am happy to share this news with you. I look forward to seeing you and your child enjoy lunch together on Fridays!
Sincerely,
Candace Jones

Message from Media
Winter break is a great time to catch up on reading the Sunshine State Young Reader Award (SSYRA) books- a statewide reading motivation program for students in grades K through 8 promoted by the Florida Association of Media in Education (FAME). Encourage your child to read this year’s picks! SSYRA books are available in your child’s classroom, in our school library, the public library, and major retail stores.
Happy Reading, Melissa Kirkland

Innovation Games
On Friday, November 18, some Audubon 4th and 5th grade students participated in Brevard Public Schools Innovation Games. There were two Shark Tank teams and a Solar Race Car Team representing the Eagles. Everyone prepared diligently and really impressed the judges. A Robocat and Multibrush were the great inventions presented to the judges with lots of great details. The Solar Race Car team clinched first place after a nail-biter finish.
In addition to competing, students were exposed to drone racing, a Sea Perch submersible competition, a Robot dog used by the Space Force, Scratch Coding, and a roomful of innovative hands-on learning experiences.
Students met SOAR expectations and had an interactive experience that was full of memorable moments.
