We are excited to do, "All Things with Excellence" in 23-24! How can we achieve this... with communication, collaboration, and community! In this issue you will learn about student orientations (K and PK), K-12 Open House events, free lunch and breakfast for all students, school calendar awareness, state testing, summer facility projects and updates, bus safety tips, career connections for CHS, contacting CCPS staff, new TeachTown curriculum, School Board updates and more! Read on to be in the know! See you on August 10 for Open House (8/14 = 1st day of school)! We can't wait to greet our students and families!

Caroline Career Connections

Welcome to the 2023-2024 Caroline Career Connections portion of the newsletter! CCPS has hired a Work-Based Learning Teacher who will be focusing on building professional relationships between students and local business partners. This program will help students utilize the skills they have acquired in their Career & Technical Education courses and apply them in a real-world setting through job shadowing, mentoring, cooperative learning, service learning and externships with our local participating businesses.

Each month, Career Connections will keep you updated on upcoming activities and events as well as helpful career tips. If you have any questions about the work-based learning program or would like to become a business partner please contact Mrs. Kristina Sanders at (540) 809-2957 or ksanders@ccps.us.

Finally, while you are preparing for back-to-school and cleaning out closets, take a moment to save any professional dress apparel and donate to our “Dress for Success” shop. This shop is taking donations of professional dress clothing for both ladies and gentlemen (blazers, dress shirts/blouses, dresses, socks, dress shoes). All donations can be dropped off at the CHS front office and labeled as “Dress for Success” shop. Donations will go directly to students who need clothing for job interviews or the workplace. Thank you for your support of our Career & Technical Education programs! Growing 3E Ready Graduates!

Partner in Education Spotlight- Atlantic Union Bank

Atlantic Union Bank has been a long standing CCPS Partner in Education. Recently, they donated $500 towards our 2023-2024 New Teacher Orientation to help us welcome our new teachers and show them what #OneCaroline means.
