In 1947, Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote, “The function of education…is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.” He went on to explain that educating the mind isn’t enough. He added, “Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”


Although his thoughts on education are nearly seventy years old, they are very much relevant to the mission of Calumet New Tech High School. We desire that all our graduates leave Calumet New Tech empowered to reach their dreams, strengthen their communities, and enrich the world.


Just a reminder:


  • No school on Monday, January 15th (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day).
  • Tuesday, January 16th, is a scheduled eLearning Day. Please make sure your child logs on.


We can't wait to see you all on Wednesday, January 17th.
