Crossroads Academy, UCISD Childcare Center, DAEP, the Footsteps Program, and Family Outreach Specialists wrapped up our first team meeting of the 2024 calendar year with teachers and staff reflecting on the importance of the work we do and connecting the dots between each of our respective roles and our shared mission and vision. We reviewed how vital the contributions of each team member have been to the systems and procedures we have developed and refined over the last five years. All of the things we do best and have built our systems around have begun as teacher and staff ideas and contributions. We strive to make our campuses and classrooms centers of love, and restorative caring. Our teachers and staff create the school environment, making our schools spaces where one genuinely feels the love. As we look ahead, our team excited to get back to the business of helping students succeed.

Over the Christmas break our GED program collaboration with Southwest Texas Junior College continued and we were able to help Camron Lambert and Bryanna Morales become the next two graduates. These students will be included in our Friday Flowers graduation celebrations over the next few weeks, and we hope their success will help motivate other community members to take advantage of our GED program, which runs throughout the Spring semester from 4:30-6:30pm Monday thru Thursday. The program is led by mentor teacher Timothy Driggers, and childcare can be provided through UCISD Childcare Center Director Sulema Ybarra.
