Principal's Update
Hello Team WB!
We are heading into the winter break after a very fun day at Gretchko. Wearing our comfy pajamas, we enjoyed a special assembly; our WBHS choir came to perform for our whole school, and they were fantastic! Our Gretchko alumni even led everyone in singing our school song. Take a listen to the video below.
Shortly after we come back from break (our first day back is January 8, 2024), we will begin our NWEA testing. Testing will occur on assigned days between January 16th and February 2nd. Look for more information to come from your child's classroom teacher on their specific testing dates.
January 14th will also be our district-wide Martin Luther Kind Day celebration. I hope you will join us at West Bloomfield Middle School on Sunday, January 14th from 1-3pm to hear a guest speaker, participate in a peace march along Orchard Lake Road, and enjoy some crafts together! We will be looking for some Gretchko stars to help carry our school banner in the march.
And with that, we wish you a wonderful break and a very Happy New Year. We are so grateful to have you as part of our Gretchko family, and we look forward to welcoming your kiddos back on January 8th.
Warmly,
Jen Teal
Principal

‘Twas Nochebuena by Roseanne Greenfield Thong
It’s Christmas Eve, and you’re invited to a Nochebuena celebration! Follow a family as they prepare to host a night filled with laughter, love, and Latino tradition. Make tasty tamales and hang colorful adornos (decorations) on the walls. Gather to sing festive canciones (songs) while sipping champurrado (hot chocolate). After the midnight feast has been served and the last gifts have been unwrapped, it’s time to cheer, “Feliz Navidad and to all a good night!”
