The data parents provide by completing this survey will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Dress Code Reminders
As temperatures drop and winter approaches, we would like to remind everyone of our dress code policy. To ensure the safety and security of all individuals within the building, no hats, hoods, or headwear are allowed. This helps us to identify each person in the building if necessary. Additionally, blankets or pillows cannot be used during school hours. We ask that you wear an extra layer of clothing or bring a jacket for chilly mornings or classrooms. Remember, hats, hoods, headwear, blankets, and pillows are not allowed inside the building. Thank you for your cooperation.
Addressing Concerns at School
Urgent Messages and Deliveries of Non-School Items
Urgent Messages can be delivered to the Attendance Office.
The school does not accept flowers, balloons and other non-school items for delivery to students. No outside food is allowed except packed lunches from home. That means... NO DELIVERIES OF FOOD ANYWHERE ON CAMPUS FROM PARENTS OR DELIVERY SERVICES.
Final Exam Make Up Information
This information is for students that missed one or more of their December 2023 final exams. To change their grade from a zero in the final exam category and to recalculate their overall course grade, they need to make up the final exam(s) that they missed.
Please see below for important information regarding make ups for final exams:

When: Wednesday, January 3rd (8:00 AM) and Thursday, January 4th (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM)
Where: Parkview High School – Arrive and enter at the Main Office - Room: M-9.031

First Semester Grades & Second Semester Schedule Information
- 1st Semester Report Cards/Transcripts 1st semester report cards/transcripts will be accessible to students and parents in StudentVue and ParentVue on January 10th. 1st semester report cards/transcripts will be printed and mailed from the GCPS district office to the student’s address in the student information system beginning January 10th.
- 2nd Semester Schedules Students will be able to view their 2nd semester schedule through the student portal or the StudentVue app on January 3rd. However, please understand that schedule changes are being made up until the first day of 2nd semester, January 4th, due to course failures and class leveling.
Some student schedules may shift due to the balancing of class sizes as well as faculty/staff changes. We guarantee students will have a total of six classes and an advisement, but we cannot guarantee that that the classes will be in the same period order or with the same teacher as first semester or that students will have the same lunch period.
Schedule Changes:
The only changes being made to second semester schedules are for those students who have failed a class and cannot move to the 2nd semester course or for seniors who need a class to meet graduation requirements. Most of these changes have already been made.
Schedule changes will NOT be made for the following reasons:
· Teacher or class period preference
· The student doesn’t like the elective and wants a different elective
· Level changes (AP to Honors, Honors to CP) because current level is impacting GPA
· GPA concerns
· The class is not needed for graduation
Students were advised during the registration process last Spring to choose wisely as their choices were yearlong choices and changes would not be made between semesters.
We hope everyone has a restful winter break and we look forward to student’s return to school on Thursday, January 4th.

Attendance Tip of the Week
Do You Need to Leave Early?
Please Follow These Check Out Procedures...
In the attendance office we want to make the process of checking your student out as seamless as possible. We can do this by following these simple steps:
- Prior to 7:15 am, the student should provide the Attendance Office with a note from the parent or guardian stating the date, parent contact number, the time requested for the check-out, and the reason.
- The student's absence due to checking out will only be excused if it meets one of the approved reasons(please see the GCPS Handbook).
- The student is then provided with a check-out pass to be shown to the classroom teacher at the time of the check-out. This pass should be brought to the Attendance Office to complete the checkout process.
- If the parent cannot be contacted, the student may not be allowed to check out. A parent or guardian must be contacted to grant permission before a student is allowed to leave campus. Students will only be dismissed to the parent or guardian or the emergency contact listed in the Parent Portal. Students who leave campus without following the check-out procedures will be considered AWOL from school and disciplined accordingly.
- Or a parent must come in and show ID to check-out student.
- For security reasons, we do not permit call-in or email parent check-outs. If a student is sick or has an emergency, the school clinic or attendance office will contact a parent/guardian or emergency contact. Students will only be released to parents/guardians, or emergency contacts that are listed on their account.
