Patrick Henry Post

Congratulations on a GREAT First Quarter!
This week, we welcomed not only cooler weather and the anticipation of Halloween, but we also ended our first quarter! Can you believe that we are already one fourth of the way through the school year? We are so proud of our students' accomplishments throughout first quarter, and we have highlighted a few of our favorite moments in this week's Patrick Henry Post. Thank you to all of our families, community partners, and district support staff who have made this such a successful school year so far!
Ameren Empowering U!
This week we held an event at Patrick Henry to empower our families with tools, resources, and specific account support for utilities. Ameren sponsored the event, and brought their own partners from Spire, the financial world, legal services, and even Dominos to treat our hard working families with pizza and guidance. We are so grateful for our community partners, and we are thankful for our families who took time out of their evenings to participate in the event! We even got to meet a Patrick Henry alumnus who is now the VP of Operations at People's Community Action Corporation!
Ms. Connie welcomed our amazing families to the event.
Ameren stations were equipped to look up specific accounts and determine the best course of action moving forward to save on bills and prepare for winter.
Families received information and resources on weatherizing their homes.
Thank you for the resources to go in our goodie bags!
Community partners were able to consult with our families all in one place to make it a convenient and informative evening for all!
Spire also helped with account-specific information and resources.
Financial institutions were available to talk about budgets, savings, opening independent accounts, and planning for the future.
VP of Operations at People's Community Action Corporation was at one time a Patrick Henry student!

What's next?
As much as we enjoyed our first quarter with our students and families, we are sure that second quarter will bring even more joys and triumphs. We are looking forward to field trips to the Magic House, the Science Center, the Missouri History Museum, and even an overnight camping field trip to Illinois! We are excited about our students growing in their reading and math goals, and exploring their scientific discoveries or historical artifacts. We cannot wait to see what they produce in art class, the beautiful sounds they will create in music class, and the physical strength they will gain in physical education. We hope you'll partner with us on our journey! Thank you to all of our students, our families, our staff, and our community partners for setting us up for such wonderful success this school year!
