Dear Raleigh Hills Community,

I had to the opportunity to sit down with our school leadership team to talk about some of our priorities in the next school year. We talked about how much we've grown this year in creating culturally responsive classrooms. We want to keep going with that work. We also talked about the importance of building positive relationships with our students. This will be of tremendous importance to us going forward. One of the things that has been so valuable to us this year is the home-to-school connections we've made. We've enjoyed the partnerships that have developed with our parents and guardians this yea,r and we don't want that to go away! Due to circumstances out of everyone's control, you invited us into your homes to work with your kids daily. We've had conversations with families about how school is working for you, the difficulties that we've experienced together, and the ways we can partner to help your child continue to thrive in the remote environment. You've shown us so much grace and understanding as we learned how to do school in a new way. We have gotten to know our families so much better this year, and this has made us more effective. Our goal in the coming year is to continue to learn from and with our families as we transition back to a school where COVID isn't on our minds all the time.

Each of the gifts and talents that your family brings to Raleigh Hills, helps to make us the most vibrant learning community. Research shows that when all the adults in a child's life work together to support the student, their success soars. Thanks for supporting your child and supporting us! We look forward to growing together next year!

In the spirit of continuing partnerships, our communication will look a little different beginning in July. We will no longer use School Messenger. We will shift to a new tool called Parent Square. There is nothing for you to do, but you will notice that messages look different. One of the fantastic benefits is that you can receive all communications in the language that you prefer, automatically. It will also be a one-stop-shop for all school communication whether it's coming from the school or the district. It should really help to streamline communication!

We had a wonderful turn out in the rainy, windy weather last night. We were able to welcome 25 new families to Raleigh Hills. We're so excited to get to know our new kindergarten friends. If you know anyone who will have a student 5 years old by September 1, please encourage them to stop by the school and pick up some RH swag!

It's time to bring back those library books. Look around your home for library books. We will be checking out library books through the end of May. Students are checking out 1 or 2 books for the remainder of the May. We are asking all families to look hard for any books that are checked out to your student. If you think you've returned books that show checked out on the computer, please email Ms. Moore at erica_moore@beaverton.k12.or.us and we will look in the school for the books. You can check your student's account by logging into the catalog with their student ID number.

Come join Club K to learn about Program Operations and Registration procedures for the 2021-2022 school year. As we head into a new school year, Club K is excited to be back running programs at all of our school communities to support working families! During the information night, families will learn about programming and enrichment supports, safety guidelines and package options for tuition. We will also have a questions and answer session to answer important questions from our families as they return to after school care with Club K After School Zone. We hope to see you there.

Raleigh Hills Elementary has partnered with EPI for your 2021-22 School Supply Program. Avoid the hassle of back-to-school supply shopping and get everything on your list.

Sign up for a free dental screening. All you need to do is fill out the consent forms and bring your child to Raleigh Hills on June 14th or 15th. We will screen hybrid students with completed consent forms while they are at school and CDL students can come from 12-3. You can print the form and return it to the school OR complete and submit the consent forms online using the links below.

Dear Raleigh Hills Parents and Guardians,

It’s data collection time again for Beaverton’s Safe Routes to School program. The purpose of this program is to make walking and biking to school safe, convenient, and fun.

Parent’s and guardian’s input into how students travel to and from schools and their impression of the safety of the route is valuable as the city and county prioritize needed improvements for our roads.

The following link was generated from the National Safe Routes to School Center and will be used to give us a good picture of how students are getting to and from schools throughout the district.

The school’s survey will be open for responses until May 31. We appreciate your help in giving us information to make our program effective for all Beaverton School District students.
