Dear Bordeaux Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and were able to avoid the occasional downpours. We are heading into the home stretch before Winter Break, but these are two important weeks filled with lots of fun and tons of learning. This last Friday, Bordeaux was visited by The Zaniac, Alex Zerbe. He shared a powerful message about the importance of reading as well as persevering when things don’t come easily. All of this was presented through comedy, music, and zaniness. Check out Bordeaux’s Facebook page for pics.
Each night your child should be coming home with a special book bag with at least one Good Fit Book in it from their classroom library. A Good Fit Book is one that students can read independently based off of an assessment they were given earlier this year. This assessment, commonly known as the Fountas and Pinnell Running Record (F & P for short) will be given at least three times this year to gauge students’ progress in reading accuracy and comprehension.
Don’t forget this Wednesday is an early release Wednesday where students will be released at 2:00 PM.
This Friday from 6:00 - 7:30 is our annual Family Art Night. This tradition is led by our fantastic resident art expert, Mr. Hill. It’s free for families to come and participate in some fun arts and craft activities. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
