Weekly Update
Week of January 10th
Message from Principal Drew...
Good evening. Pirates. This is your Principal Mickey Drew with your weekly update.
Students don't forget that we will follow our regular bell schedule tomorrow. This means that you will go to 1st period to start the day and WIN time will take place after 2nd period each day. Students it is very important that you arrive on time and stay the entire day in order to reach your full potential in each class.
Masks are still required in all school based settings. This includes buses, hallways, classrooms, and any other area at PCHS. Masks should be worn over the nose and mouth for maximum effectiveness.
We have another busy week at PCHS this week.
In athletics we will host Gates County in basketball on Wednesday night starting at 4:30 with our JV Boys. Our Swim team is off to a great start and will be in the pool on Wednesday as well. On Friday our swim team will be back in action starting at 4:00 and our basketball teams will travel to Riverside High School. Also, our softball and baseball teams will be participating in off season workouts starting this week after school each day.
Report cards go out this Thursday. Students will be given report cards to bring home on this day. Parents be on the lookout for these report cards and take time to discuss your child's progress with them once you have seen their final grades. Taking time to discuss their progress will help your student see the importance of their education from your perspective and allow them to understand why it is important to do their best each day.
Tickets are still on sale for the Snowball dance on January 28th. Any student interested in attending the dance should see Mrs. Russell for tickets.
Students that need to change classes should stop by the guidance department and complete a schedule change form by the end of this week. As always, class changes are based on the space available in each class.
We had a good first week last week. Let's stay focused and prepared each day and take advantage of every learning opportunity we encounter in week 2.
