Timber Talks

In the Estacada School District, we strive to continue to improve the experience we provide for our students and families. To support these efforts, we conduct a survey twice each school year to collect your input on how things are going. By taking just a few minutes to complete our survey, you will be helping us shape the future of our schools and improve our services to you and your children. Your feedback is a valuable part of our improvement process. Please find a moment to take this survey once for each school that your children attend. We appreciate your constructive, thoughtful feedback.

Recently, we have seen a dip in student attendance rates. We want your child to have the absolute best opportunity to learn and strengthen their skills and the way to do that is to have consistent attendance at school. If your child is vomiting, has diarrhea, or a fever, we need them to stay home, but if they are working through a cold, we encourage them to still come to school. It is hard to make up for missed content and students can have a hard time when they miss information and are trying to catch up. If there is any way we can support you with your child's attendance or if there is something you would like us to understand, please do not hesitate to reach out.

We are one week in with our One School, One Book event, and it has been so much fun. This strengthens our school community and we thoroughly enjoy sharing events and predictions as they arise from Dog Days. Thank you for supporting your child's participation. We will resume on Monday, and please don't read ahead, we want to do this together! Thank you!

Our whole school comes together to read the same book at the same time! Please don't read ahead, as we want to stay on the same schedule so the story does not get spoiled for anyone! We will continue sending you videos of one of our staff members reading a section of Dog Days, by Karen English on Monday. Each family should have received one copy of the book. Together, find a cozy spot and settle in to enjoy the novel with us. To know what we are reading, please follow the schedule outlined below. If you have any questions about it, let us know!

Kinder Connect is an event where we host our incoming Kindergarten students and their families. If you know of a child who lives within our school boundary, who is turning 5 before September 1st and will be ready for kindergarten, please help spread the word. It is so important that we register our incoming students to ensure we have the right staffing levels right at the start of the school year. If you have questions, give our office a call!

In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days for are invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let. us know!

We will begin our state testing for 3rd and 5th grade students on Monday. We have shared with our students that this is a great opportunity to show off all they have learned and the skills that they have acquired. In order to help this process go as smoothly as possible, it is imperative that your child is here on time each day. Please also ensure your child's chromebook and charger have been returned to school. Thank you.

Did you know we offer Pre-K for 4 year olds? We have a limited number of spots available in our program. If you are interested, please select the box below to fill out an intake form. All forms must be turned in by May 12th for consideration. If we have more interest than spots, some will not be accepted. Thank you for understanding.

Each month we choose to focus on one of our Standards of Excellence. Through this, we teach our students what it means to display these characteristics. Then we recognize members of our school community for exemplifying the trait. All of these help us to reach our school district's long term mission of equipping our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be resourceful and successful.

My School Bucks is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, and receive email notifications for low account balances.

Please note: currently, a convenience fee of $2.75 will be applied for each transaction.

All transactions are processed and applied to students' accounts nightly.
