LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Season’s Greetings Bright Beginnings Families:
We are looking forward to a great December. We will be offering a Parent Meeting on December 1st from 5:00-6:00 PM at the Civic Center. It is a festive event that families usually enjoy!
Please be aware that attendance is a key factor in determining success for students in our programs. We understand seasonal illness, but if your child is well—please make sure that they attend to get the most benefit from their time with us.
You may have noticed that construction is beginning on the Stadium Parking lot adjacent to Bright Beginnings. This will be a challenging time for us, as both staff and parents have traditionally used that area. Remember that the pull-in and traffic flow in our main lot is still one way. Drive carefully and keep your eyes open for students, especially in the winter months. We look forward to the improvements after the construction is complete.
We still have slots available in both our 3 and 4 year old programs for families. If you know of a friend or family member that has a child that might benefit from the Pre-School experience, please encourage them to call us at 620-371-1220 and inquire about what is available.
The month of December is exciting here at Bright Beginnings. We look forward to a wonderful month, a joyous Winter Break, and an exciting New Year.
Thank you for allowing us to serve your children . . .

A NOTE FROM MISS MELYSSA
What a joy it has been to get to know your children in their classrooms, at arrival and dismissal and the many other ways we get to enjoy school together!
As we jump back to last months tidbits of safety in schedules and routines, and connections in relationships, strengthening these foundations will ease this Holiday Season.
When we focus on the Power of Unity and Skill of Encouragement we pay attention and notice what others are doing to be helpful. What a great time of year to notice kindness and to show kindness. As children learn how to do helpful things they are praised by their effort which leads to motivation. This allows for less token type motivators.
Well wishes to you all this December!
Keep doing the "good stuff" with your kiddos and I hope these little tidbits allow us to shift a bit and add in a different way to learn with children.
We continue these topics and discussions at Parent Connection Groups. These follow the Conscious Discipline Mindset and strategies to share with school and home families. Come and meet with other parents, do some make it take it activities with your child(ren) and learn together. See more info in the flyer included in this newsletter and in Talking Points.
Thank you being a part of our Bright Beginnings Family.
Wishing you Well! ~Miss Melyssa
NURSE TIEBEN'S CORNER
Immunizations are important to keep everyone safe foremost, however, we have to comply to state law as well. Students need to complete past due/missing vaccines as soon as possible. Immunization notices go home with students in some programs and if they have a family advocate for HS/EHS/CC programs, advocates will have the notices to give parents. If for some reason there is a need for exemption of receiving vaccines, Kansas allows Medical and Religious exemptions. If students are sick and unable to complete vaccines at the time, they will need to be completed upon recovery as soon as possible. We appreciate parents’ cooperation to keep our students safe, healthy and ready to learn!
