April 2022
COMING UP: May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Finding Mental Health Support....
Below we have provided an article and press release from the White House regarding these issues, other factors contributing to the lack of services, and strategies to address the issue. At SYFS we are working hard to try to provide additional resources for residents, strategies to support one another, and providing information on what to look for in the case of psychiatric emergencies. We have provided some information below about workshops that are available to residents free of charge as well as the mental health support services we offer.
You may experience frustration in your search for a provider and this may cause an increase in stress levels. We are here to help and provide interim support. Please do not hesitate to contact us even if it is for a one time conversation.
WORKSHOPS
Listen with L.O.V.E.: the art of communication in relationships
Positive communication is a critical element in relationship success and yet, it is something that challenges all of us. How do you support your loved one who is in distress? SYFS is offering the workshop, Listen With L.O.V.E: The art of communication in relationships to address some of these challenges and review critical elements of successful communication. If you are a parent, spouse, friend, son or daughter, or simply a human, in relationships with other humans, please consider joining us.
