Boys Basketball
Boys Basketball Try-outs are this week. They are Wednesday Jan. 10th from 2:45-3:45. Students need to have a completed permission slip. Golden Hills will have a fourth and a fifth grade team. Practices are held after school and games are located out of town, Richvale, Gridley etc. Students must have their own transportation to games.
Shady Creek Field Trip for 2024-2025 schoolyear!
Shady Creek is a three night, four day environmental camp. Our fourth grade class will be attending next year. In order to attend we must have parent volunteers to stay in the cabins with the students. These parents must be cleared through our district through the volunteer process. We will need to have the parents cleared before the end of this school year to commit to going! The reserved dates for Shady Creek are the week before our October intercession. Please begin the process so we can be sure we have enough parent volunteers.
Literacy Chat on February 1st!
One of our school’s main focuses this year is literacy. Literacy is a building block skill that will support students with fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Every student participates in a SOAR (Student Opportunities for Achievement in Reading) class, this is a school wide reading intervention/enrichment block.
Students were given a reading screener in December and based on those results your student is currently placed in a SOAR class that focuses on an area of need. If you are interested in learning specific strategies on how to help your child with this please come to our Literacy Chat on February 1st at 3 pm . We will meet in the Golden Hills STEAM room. We hope to see you there, if you let us know you are coming ahead of time we will have specific resources for your student! Please call the office or email to knapoli@palermok8.org
