Leprechaun Traps
Untitled
Wow! We tried our best to capture that leprechaun, but he was too clever! He made a huge mess of our classroom! Luckily, he dropped some of his treasures on his way through our room. The kiddos made awesome traps with their families! Thank you to those who participated!
Word Wall Words
Pictured above are this week’s new words. Please have your child practice at home. A big thank you to Nasir for coloring this week’s page. Below, he found one of this week’s words in a book!
Literacy Workstations
Please keep those ChromeBooks charged. We use them throughout the week in Literacy and Math Workstations. We have Technology every Thursday.
Pictured above, this group is working on their Reading A-Z books. This is a great resource for your child to practice reading and comprehension.
Word Work
These three girls wrote Word Wall Words that they know in a snap!
Writers Workshop
This week we began writing “How to” books. Bennett is proudly showing off his “How to Draw a Balloon” book. This is a fun unit!
Reading
In reading we are learning about facts and opinions. We read the book “Duck! Rabbit!,” which left us wondering if the main character is a duck or a rabbit. We never discovered the answer but we all had an opinion!
Shared Reading
While reading together, we take note of how many words are in the sentences and generate rhyming words.
Math
We are composing numbers in the teens. We are learning that we need a group of 10 and add extra ones to it (16 is 10 and 6 extra ones).
Math Workstations
Laila used a pattern card to create this pencil. Children identify the pieces they will need and follow a guide to create what is pictured..
Science
This week, as Ichthyologists (scientists who study fish), we studied trout and what they need to survive. We also did a guided drawing. We have fabulous illustrators!
March Challenge
Would your child know how to call you if they were lost? Let’s focus on learning a phone number this month.
