Weekly Wildcat Newsletter - Feb. 4
Northwestern Middle School News and Notes
Happy Friday Wildcat Country!
We had a great week of school at NMS! I'm amazed by our students everyday. I enjoy watching them work in the classroom, hang out with friends at recess, and participate in after school activities. This week I was able to visit with some members of our Kindness Club after school, and I watched our girls & boys basketball teams both win on Wednesday night. I do love this job!
Please make plans to join us Tuesday, February 8 for our monthly PTO meeting. We are meeting at 9:30 am in the Media Center. See you there!
Please report any positive COVID-19 cases to the Parent or Employee portals. Pending test results and direct exposures no longer need to be reported.
If there is anything we can do to support your family, please let us know. I hope all of our families have a wonderful weekend!
I'm looking forward to seeing our students again on Monday!

Milton High School Course Verification Night
On Monday, February 7 from 5:00-7:00 PM, Milton High School will host a Course Verification Night in the Milton Cafeteria. This is an opportunity for parents and students to review recommended and requested courses for the 2022-2023 school year. Students who wish to take FVS/GAVS courses, change electives, or move up/down academic levels from teacher recommendation MUST turn in the signed Course Verification Form by February 11, 2022 to the NMS Front Office.
This will be students’ LAST opportunity to make changes to their course requests for next year. There will be no changes after this point. Changes must be made via the course request form. We cannot accommodate requests via e-mail, phone call, or appointments. If a family is unable to attend the evening of February 7, students’ verification forms will be distributed at school the next day.
Health and Physical Education Textbook Adoption
During the 2021-2022 school year, FCS will review resources for textbook adoption for Health & PE in Grades K-12. All teachers and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the public review from January 24, 2022 through February 25, 2022.
Please visit the textbook adoption website for additional details.
Valentine's Day Message
As we approach Valentine’s Day, it is important to ensure that all homemade candy, desserts, baked goods, or other edible items are not to be sold or distributed during school hours, and that appropriate store bought items are delivered to the administration. Please know that taking this measure will help us maintain a safe environment for all students with allergies, etc. You can help us protect your student(s) by requesting that they not eat anything given to them by another person, anything that they have not brought from your home or anything not in its original sealed package.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping all of our students safe at school!
