Letter from the Principal
It was a fun filled week at St. Teresa as Jogging Jim talked to students about being FEARLESS, ADAPTING, CARING, and TALKING POSITIVELY ABOUT OURSELVES.
Next week there is no school on Monday, January 16th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. MLK Day is a National Day of Service. I challenge all of you to participate in some way on Monday to help your community. Your actions big or small, can have a huge impact on others.
"The time is always right to do what is right." - Martin Luther King Jr.
Just a reminder that the Illinois State Board of Education is now requiring Nonpublic Schools supported by public funds (free & reduced lunch) to have an absenteeism and truancy policy. The Diocesan Board of Education has established an Absenteeism and Truancy pdf Policy. All schools in the Diocese of Belleville must follow this new directive.
If you haven't filled out the survey on the end of year reminders link, please do so ASAP. The link will help determine tuition rates for the 2022-2023 school year and who is a parishioner.
End of Year Reminder link ~ End of Year Reminders Deadline is this Sunday!!!
As always, we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership.
Sincerely,
Nicole Green
Principal

St. Teresa Alumni Spotlight
As a St. Teresa Twirl Girl, Katie accompanied several troupe members to Programs and Services for Older Persons (PSOP) every Tuesday before Thanksgiving and Holy Thursday from 2011 to 2016 where students would decorate placemats, serve lunch and beverages, visit with our “senior friends”, and often play games. Katie always stayed afterwards to help clean up.
She absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere at PSOP so much so that in 2020, Katie requested it as her Althoff Catholic Senior Service Project location, where she spent a month performing various activities for and with clients of PSOP.
Today, as a college junior home on winter break, she called and asked if she could visit once again. She lucked out as it was Orchestra Day! Katie spent the afternoon dancing with her senior friends while learning to jitterbug and polka!
Super proud of this former St. Teresa Twirl Girl and her love of service.

Inclement Weather Plan
IS SCHOOL CLOSED?
Closure of St. Teresa School will be shared FIRST on the St. Teresa School website and on official St. Teresa social media within minutes of the decision.
For the 2022-2023 school year St. Teresa School will be following District 118 closure policy.
If District 118 is closed due to inclement weather, St. Teresa's will also be closed.
For the 2022-2023 school year there will be no "remote learning" days.
As children we all looked forward to the fun of a "snow day."
All "snow days" will be made up at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
