Where Learning Comes First
Principal's Post
Dear Head Community,
You will notice changes in security the next time you visit our wonderful school. These changes are happening county wide. Please allow a few extra minutes if you are coming to check your child out and have patience with the office staff as we all adjust to the changes. I hope everyone has fun at the dance tonight! Enjoy your weekend!

Surveys
Good afternoon Bronco Families,
Throughout the school year, a variety of surveys are given to students, staff, and families to gather feedback and information. There are no new surveys this year, but we wanted to direct you to the district website to review any surveys that students participate in during the year.
For more information, please visit https://www.gcpsk12.org/Page/35333.
Family Learning NIght
Come on out for a night of learning and fun! Doors open at 6:00 PM, but you can drop in anytime before 7:30.
Attention Parents a reminder from the cafeteria:
Parents, please be mindful of the balance in your child’s account. These accounts are meant to work as a prepay system, therefore we need to keep charges to a minimum.
Those students with free or reduced meal status from last year must renew their application every year. Current benefits will run out on Wednesday September 13th. Please do not wait until the last minute to get your application in. The application must be processed by September 13th, and that process can take up to 10 business days. Online applications can be accessed at http://gwinnett.schoollunchapp.com. If you have already done this process thank you, and you can check the status of your application at http://gwinnett.schoollunchstatus.com. If you allow your benefits to run out on your child’s status automatically, it goes to full pay and you will be responsible for any charges occurred doing the time of no benefits.
If you every have questions about your student’s account you may call Doris Brewer, Cafeteria Manager at 770-736-4512. Thank You
THIS INSTITUTION IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PROVIDER.

Digital Learning Day - Friday, September 15
Friday, September 15 is our first GCPS Digital Learning Day. All students will learn from home, completing work assigned by their teachers. This newsletter provides you with some guidance and reminders as you prepare for DLD.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE A DIGITAL LEARNING DAY
We encourage you to make sure your child is ready for DLD before September 15. This will make the morning of the Digital Learning Day smoother for everyone!
- Has your child joined the necessary Google Classrooms?
- Most of our students have done this in their regular classroom.
- Parents cannot join a GCPS Google Classroom.
- If your child is using a home device for DLD, have they logged into their Student Portal and Google account prior to DLD?
- Have you added your child's GCPS Google account to any personal devices?
- If planning to use a tablet (iPad, Kindle, etc...) for DLD, have you downloaded all the necessary apps?
Have you accessed your Parent Portal account recently?
We know that families want easy access for need-to-know information about their student's education— from records to resources. Just as important, you want an easy way to stay in touch with the school.
The updated GCPS Parent Portal gives parents access to grades, assignments, and communication with teachers. The GCPS Parent Portal gives families a direct line to the classroom, with 24/7 real-time information and anytime, anywhere access, with in-portal translation in multiple languages.
For more information regarding the GCPS Parent Portal (or to register for an account), please visit: https://www.gcpsk12.org/Page/26042
Please note that the GCPS Parent Portal is different from the new ParentSquare app. Parents should access both tools to ensure they have up-to-date information for their student!!
