April 2023
A Message from Principal Stephens
On behalf of our PRIDE staff, thank you for all of your donations toward our annual Progress for Patterson (P4P) fundraiser. We are proud that 100% of community donations go right back into our school and classrooms. We are thankful to have such a supportive community on a variety of levels in order to ensure resources and experiences are available to our students. Your parental support is what makes Patterson such a wonderfully unique community. Thank you!
It is that time of year for students to shine with proficiency levels and individual growth during our computer-based AASA state testing for grades 3rd – 6th. It is important to have students in attendance, on time, and ready for their day. If at all possible, please schedule any appointments after school, especially during this testing timeframe. We encourage students to eat a full and healthy breakfast on test days in order to have enough “brain fuel”. Please look for information from your child’s teacher on their specific testing days and times.
Test Taking Tips for Students
Doing your best on a test takes a little planning. Here are a couple of tips to help you be ready for test days.
1. The night before the test, go to bed on time – or even early so that you get enough rest.
2. Wake up on time. Give yourself plenty of time for a stress-free morning.
3. Eat a good, healthy breakfast. Make sure to have some protein for brainpower.
4. Arrive to school on time, ready to learn and succeed.
5. Try your best, think positive – you will do great!
Have a positive start to April and we are excited to shine during 4th quarter!
Warmly,
Sarah Stephens
