• Culvers Nixon Night: We held our fundraiser at Culver's last week, and our PTA came away with $572.23 from the one evening event. Thank you to everyone who showed up, bought food, and/or volunteered your time. What a huge success for our amazing PTA!
  
  
• Hy Vee Receipt Donations: Ready for an update on this fierce competition? As of Friday at noon here is the leaderboard:

  Don't worry! It's not too late to turn in those receipts for your favorite team! We are collecting until Friday, November 13 so be sure to ask your friends, family, and neighbors for any receipt donations to help your favorite team win a Popcorn Party!

• Cold Weather is Upon Us: Don't forget to send your learners to school with coats, hats, and mittens/gloves every day. Now that the weather is getting chilly, we want to be sure everyone is ready for outdoor recess. We go outside for 2 recesses a day unless it is raining or the "feels like" temperature is 9 degrees or colder. Be sure to send your learners prepared for outside play time!!!!
  
  
• Reminder About No School Days: With Thanksgiving Break right around the corner I wanted to remind you that we do NOT have school November 22, 23, or 24.
  
  
• December 7--Dinner & a Movie Night at Nixon: Looking for a fun, free, family event to get you in the holiday spirit? Join us Thursday, December 7 from 5:00-6:30 for dinner, a movie, and popcorn with your whole family. Please return the flyer or fill out the online RSVP by November 30th so we have an accurate count for dinner. Hope to see you there!!!
  
  
• Join us Thursday for an Online Event! On Thursday starting at 3:25, we'll be live streaming a Parade of Balloons on our Nixon Facebook page as part of our Reading Buddies activity. We'll listen to the book "Balloons Over Broadway" and then design and construct our own balloons for the parade.
