In the Thick of It!
We begin February in the thick of Catholic Schools Week!
Saturday brought back our Pancake Breakfast! What a wonderful community event! Families enjoyed spending time together and visiting the Book Fair in Fatima Hall. The Masses over the weekend were prefaced by our students speaking about their experience at St. Mary Catholic School.
We started off the week with Career Day! Thank you to ALL of our awesome parents who took the time to share, with our students, the work you do everyday!
Frankie Corsi, Laura Toso, Donald Wright, Brandy Behrens
Carrie Stumpf, Tracy Evans, Emmanuel Boucicaut
Victor Campbell, Tejaswi Voota, Jennifer Dankmeyer, Franklin Watkins
Ruth Jean-Pierre, Stanley Jean-Pierre, Leann Bobetich AND Matt Graber
Parents visited us Tuesday to be a part of the goings on of our school. I was able to enjoy some coffee and donuts with our guests. We discussed our vision of "Let's Be Exceptional"; the new playground as well as opportunities to volunteer time, talent and treasure to support our school.
Wednesday is all about our students! We kicked off Student Appreciation Day with our "Pie the Principal" event! Two big bidders got the opportunity to pie Ms. Smetanick in the face! Also, students have a day out of uniform and for lunch some yummy hot pizza provided by the HSA! The talent show and PBIS fun ends the day with a bang!
Thursday brings in our favorite people... the GRANDPARENTS! Grandparents will enjoy cookies and conversations in the classrooms.
Friday ends the week with Teacher Appreciation Day which will include HSA breakfast for our teachers; Mass at 10:30 AM and a noon dismissal. We will be announcing our chosen Teacher of the Year right before Mass at 10:15 AM. It goes without stating that our teachers will be good and tired! To show our appreciation, they are encouraged to go home early and rest!
Catholic education is truly a gift that we are blessed to provide for young learners. We move forward teaching our students Truth, knowledge and skills with Faith and Reason!
Let's be exceptional!!
Sincerely in Him,
Michelle Smetanick, Principal
