River Mill Elementary - December 7, 2022

Dear River Mill Families,

We would like to take this time to thank our 1st and 2nd grade families. Thank you for coming to support your child during our Family Breakfast this past week. We absolutely love hosting and creating positive memories for kids and families. Thank you for joining us!

This week is going to be packed full of learning and fun! Our staff is working hard to keep things as routine as possible this final week going into our Winter Break. Remember, when returning to school in January, there is no school on Monday, January 2nd. Therefore, students will have regular school days Tuesday, January 3rd through Friday, January 6th. Please plan accordingly.

Many of our students have been impacted by illness the past few weeks. When your child is sick, and with a fever or vomiting, please keep them home. Please do not medicate your child to mask symptoms and send them to school. Unfortunately, when this happens, it exposes many more children and we want to keep them healthy and able to attend school. If you are unsure if your child is ready to return to school, please give our office a call and our team can help answer your questions. We want to ensure they're feeling great and we want them to have the best learning opportunity each day when they are healthy. Thank you for also providing your child appropriate clothes for the weather, as it has gotten cold!

It's Spirit Week!

In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days for are invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let. us know!

Monday, December 12th: Regular School Day
Tuesday, December 13th: Regular School Day
Wednesday, December 14th: Regular School Day
Thursday, December 15th: Regular School day
Friday, December 16th: REID Day, for invited students only

When we return in January:

Thursday, January 5th: Regular School Day
Friday, January 6th: Regular School Day

Jan. 16th - No School, MLK Day

Jan. 25th - Kinder/5th Grade Family Breakfast

Why Attendance Matters

We have a number of students who are arriving at school late each day. We really emphasize the importance of coming to school each day and on time to establish routine, consistency, and we don't want your child to miss important social and academic items that are so valuable to their school success. If there is a specific circumstance causing this for your family, please let us know so we can support you. Thank you.

Please note: currently, a convenience fee of $2.75 will be applied for each transaction.

All transactions are processed and applied to students' accounts nightly.
