Music and More...Much More
TPS Families -
This week, we celebrated the International Day of Education. This year's theme Changing Course, Transforming Education truly fits where we are have been these past two years as well as where we are heading, rebalancing our relationships with each other, with nature, and with the technology that permeates our lives. I again thank all of you for continuing to travel these winding roads with me and the entire TPS staff.
Once again, a month has come and gone much quicker than expected. January showered us and will continue to do so this week with a host of music and theater performances. We hope that you were able to enjoy these special events that showcase the unlimited talents of our students!
Kindergarten registration continues with Mackay and Maugham Elementary School both well underway. Smith and Stillman Elementary Schools are scheduled for February. Beginning March 3rd, registration will open for all new students grades K-12. Please check the website for registration dates, forms, and information for each of our schools.
Finally, please be sure to read below for tips, tricks, and reminders about all things TPS! Enjoy the week!

Tenafly Public Schools has moved to a shorter quarantine period, aligning with the guidelines provided by the NJDOH and CDC. Beginning tomorrow, January 20th, all Tenafly Public Schools will move to a five-day quarantine period, followed by wearing a well-fitting mask on days 6-10. Due to this mask requirement, additional guidelines will also be in place for lunch and extracurricular activities. Please check the TPS COVID-19 Communications page on the TPS website for specifics and helpful flow charts that will assist you in navigating your way through the new guidelines.
Winter Driving Tips
Winter weather is upon us, and although some delay, open, or close decisions are easy, some storms make it a bit more difficult. Timing or location are both variables that affect our decision. Please know that we will always choose safety first for our students and our staff and will do our best to make those decisions as quickly and accurately as possible. For some helpful tips on winter weather driving, please visit the Safety Reminders page on our website.
Utility Payment Assistance Programs
Electric, gas and water utility companies in New Jersey will resume shut off of service this month for customers with unpaid overdue balances. The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities' (NJ BPU's) utility assistance program can help, giving residents time to apply for help and bring down their balances before January.
