Please take a few minutes to fill it out to let us know how we are doing and where we can make improvements. Your feedback is very important to us.

5Essentials Parent Survey
Students and teachers across Illinois now have the opportunity to participate in the ninth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness. Additionally, your 4th-8th grade student will be asked about their experiences in school to help give school leaders critical student input and help develop future school improvement plans. If you would like to view the student survey questions or opt-out your student please complete the form found at: d123.org/five. You and your student's identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and anonymous. To get started with the survey head to d123.org/five.

Teacher Spotlight: Meet Ms.Caitlyn Glynn
How long and what grades have you taught?
I’ve always been a 4th grade teacher! I taught in CPS right out of college for one school year before coming to Hometown. I’ve been teaching at Hometown for the last 6 years.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
This question is so hard since I am the type of person that would jump on a plane to anywhere. However, I’d love to go to Ireland to spend the time with my family and see all the castles. I’d also love to see the small farm town that my grandmother grew up in.
What is the best thing about working at Hometown?
The best thing about working at Hometown is the family culture created between staff, students, and families. The relationships are strong. I feel that everyone truly cares for each other. The respect and teamwork between everyone is what makes this place different from anywhere else.
What is your favorite food?
Anything Greek! Put lemon and oregano on something and I’m sold!
Who is someone you admire and why
The person I look up to the most is my mom. My mom is that soft spoken, kind person that never complains about anything! She has taught my brothers and I to always work hard, be independent, and the importance for family. Her sacrifices for her children have always motivated me to work hard to make her proud.
