February 2024
From the Principal
Greetings Viking Families,
The Spring 2024 semester was off to a slow start, but we just finished our first full week of classes! We are celebrating 2nd Quarter student achievement while encouraging students to start and finish strong this quarter. We remain focused on School Safety encouraging students to Be a Viking: Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Accountable. Below are some important reminders to discuss with your student(s):
- For safety purposes, please do not bring contraband items to school (over the counter medications, vapes, weapons, etc.).
- Students are not allowed to leave campus before 3:05pm without permission.
- Food deliveries to school are not permitted.
Students found violating these expectations will be held accountable. Please refer to the Standard Response Protocol (pictured below) for a review of safety measures in place.
Students are in the midst of registering class for next year. School counselors are working closely with teachers and students to discuss the process. Talk with your students to learn more about their classes for next year.
Spring Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 21st in the Multipurpose Center from 12-7pm.
Thank you all for your continued support and involvement in the Viking Community. If you have any questions, please call us 531-299-2700.
Go Vikings!
Grading Reminder
Parents and Students, teacher gradebooks are updated every 2 weeks. Please note, if an assignment is turned in late, it will take additional time for the teacher to both grade the late assignment and update the gradebook.
Hall Sweeps
Los Barridos de Pasillo
Students are expected to be in class on time. Hall sweeps will occur during the school day either during classes or between classes, where administrators will assign either a lunch detention or a late school detention if students are out of area without valid passes. Administrators may contact parents as part of this process. Failure to serve the detention will result in further consequences.

PTSO Donation
Happy New Year! Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Omaha North Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO). We are most visible selling concessions during athletic events, but we also support students and staff behind the scenes. For example, last Friday we provided teachers and staff cookies and cocoa as the semester comes to a close. We’ve given over $3,500 to student organizations to support their activities, and supported and attended Student Council and Omaha North Foundation events. The list goes on. Any support you can give, regardless of how small, will be greatly appreciated. Please click the link below or scan the QR code below. Your donation is tax deductible & greatly appreciated!
