Northview Familia,
We had a great week at Northview. Our girls wrestling team won the CIF-SS Division 1 Dual Wrestling Championship by beating Corona on Tuesday. Our girls and boys basketball teams both earned a CIF playoff spot along with our boys soccer team. Our boys and girls wrestling teams had 28 students qualify for a spot at CIF Individual Finals this week.
We finished last week with a daily average attendance of 96.1% and we ended the month of January with an average daily attendance rate of 94.2%. Thank you for your hard work in making sure that our students are in class every day ready to learn. We will announce our February Attendance Challenge incentive soon.

As we step into February, it's time to shine a spotlight on our heart health. Did you know that February is American Heart Month? To celebrate, we're launching the "28 Days Toward a Healthy Heart" challenge!
This challenge is all about making small, manageable changes to our daily routines that promote better heart health. Each day, you'll have the opportunity to participate in a helpful tip, fun activity, or insightful suggestion to incorporate into your life. From nutrition and physical activity to stress management and mindfulness, the challenge will cover a wide range of areas to support your heart health journey.
So, get ready to embark on this exciting challenge with us!

Last week, the counseling department held a Virtual Q&A regarding the Financial Aid process. If you were unable to attend the virtual meeting, you can submit your questions on the link below. AVID Future Ready
This week a group of students visited Mt. Sac for their Business Division Open House. Students were able to partake in two workshops and were provided lunch. Students attended workshops related to the fields of Child Development, Accounting, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Fashion Design, Computer Science, and Interior Design. This was a great opportunity for our students to step foot on a college campus and learn about the many after high school programs available to them. We even got to visit the planetarium! Basketball
Congratulations to Boys Basketball on their victories over Diamond Ranch HS and Covina HS last week and on placing 3rd in League to secure their spot in CIF! The team will be away for their first CIF game against Western HS on Wednesday, February 7.
Congratulations to Girls Basketball on their victory over Diamond Ranch HS last week and on placing 2nd in League to secure their spot in CIF! The team will be away for their first CIF game against Lakewood HS on Thursday, February 8.
Soccer
Congratulations to Boys Soccer on their victory over San Dimas HS and Diamond Ranch HS last week! The team placed 3rd in League and secured a spot in CIF! They will be away for their first CIF game against Great Oak HS on Wednesday, February 7.
Congratulations to Girls Soccer on placing 4th in League and an overall great season!
Wrestling
Congratulations to the Girls Wrestling team on defeating Corona HS last Tuesday to earn the title of CIF Duals Champions for the 3rd year in a row! Congratulations to Boys and Girls Wrestling on their victories at League Finals this past Friday where everyone who wrestled placed!
Good Luck to both our Girls and Boys teams as they head to the CIF Individual Championships this weekend!

ASB Updates
Spring Fling - February 23, 2024
Tickets are currently on sale for our Spring Fling Dance! The theme this year is: A Radiator Spring(s) Fling! The dance will be held at Boomers! in the City of Industry.
Dance tickets include:
-unlimited go-kart
-unlimited mini golf
-unlimited spin zone bumper cars
-unlimited arcade (excluding games that award immediate prizes such as the claw machine)
-1 meal from the Habit Burger truck
Tickets are currently being sold for:
$50 with ASB
$60 without ASB
$70 for a Guest
**Ticket prices will remain the same throughout the week.
**The LAST DAY to purchase tickets is THIS FRIDAY, February 9.
Don't forget that every student must have a dance contract signed by their parent/guardian and the Dean's office before purchasing a ticket!
Girls Got Game Conference
Last Thursday, February 1, our Lady Vikings attended the Girls Got Game Conference, hosted annually by the Foothill-Citrus Athletics Directors Association. This was a great opportunity for girls from each of our athletic programs to learn what it takes to be student-athletes and leaders both on and off the field from current and former female collegiate athletes and coaches.

Staff Spotlight
All of our teachers and substitutes are aware of this secretarial hero, also known as Mrs. Samantha Bockover! Whenever teachers have had an IEP, an emergency, or been in a pinch, she is sure to get you coverage in record time! Not only is Samatha SmartFinder savvy, she is also our Canva queen and social media hype girl!
We have all witnessed what an asset Mrs. Bockover is to the Viking family! She is a strong member of our administrative clerical team, and also a source of aesthetic entertainment when highlighting our schools accomplishments.
Mrs. Bockover is a busy wife and mom of two, and when not working here, she is growing their delicious business at Monstrous Pizza, a proud sponsor of some Viking events! Best secretary and best pizza place in town! Thank you for all you do, Sam!
