This week we are excited to recognize these students for their kind and overall demonstrating their very best PRIDE behavior! We had so many students that chosen. It was a great week.We are so proud of all of them! We know they will continue to be leaders and set good examples for their friends!

Mrs.Nicoletti and Miss Poling are popular names around the building. They are our Title One teachers and have had the opportunity to work with just about all of our students in the building as well as our virtual students. They completed assessments on all students at the beginning of the year and work with students in small group settings. Their mission is to build self-esteem in students and encourage them to be confident and successful readers. All students are eager to work with these ladies, as they plan fun and engaging lessons that promote the love of reading!

This week we had our One School, One book reveal. The kids were excited to find out the name of the book Monday morning. Our book is The Tale of Despereaux! We have so many fun activities planned in the upcoming weeks. The activities link was sent home last week. Please remember to take a look at all the activities and have fun! These are all optional but are a great opportunity to engage with the book.The chapter recordings are available for all to listen to. We will still have our spirit days at school, remember to check out the calendar. A great activity for the weekend would be the community scavenger hunt. We have 8 community businesses supporting our OSOB initiative. Visit each of these businesses and get a stamp on the matrix and return it to school for a chance to win a prize!

Thomas Jefferson will earn 25% on net sales in Scholastic Dollars to buy new books! Also, please remember that book only orders over $25.00 qualify for free shipping. The Kids Heart Challenge (Jump Rope for Heart) is almost over, but it's not too late to register and earn prizes! Register online at heart.org/KHC and your child will earn a free wristband. A $5 online donation will earn your child "Dash," a fun heart hero reward! So far our school has raised almost $1,400! Many thanks to all those that have registered and donated money so far! All money raised goes directly to the American Heart Association, a very worthwhile cause that helps save lives! All donations need to be done online and completed by this Sunday, February 28. I do this in memory of my dad - is there someone you can honor and jump for today? Again, thank you for your support!

We are moving forward with state testing in the spring. The testing windows are as follow:

April 6 through April 23rd - ELA

April 19 through May 7th - Math/Science

This is for all students grades 3 through 5. We are finalizing the details of how our virtual students will test. As we have the exact dates for our school, you will be notified.

Your child must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2021, to be enrolled for the 2021-2022 school year. To make an appointment to register your child, please contact Lori Dugger at 440-942-7244 or by email at lori.dugger@weschools.org.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 16th. During the hours of 5:00pm-7:00pm, Chick-fil-A will donate 15% of all their sales to Jefferson Elementary School. All you have to do is order. You do not even have to say it is for Jefferson, they already know that. Help support our school by ordering on that day!

• Conferences will be on Thursday, March 4th from 3:00pm until 6:00pm.
• Please remember to call the office attendance line if your child will be absent. If your child will be leaving early, please remember to send in a note on that day.
• Power School Updates: An email was sent out for anyone that has not updated all of their child's emergency/contact information. It is imperative that this information be updated, whether your child is a virtual or brick and mortar student.
