SME Theatre Boosters needs volunteers to help make February's winter musical "Once Upon a Mattress" a success. Join boosters on Jan. 17 to find out how you can help or email smetheatrebooster@gmail.com.
The SME Art Gallery is dedicated to providing creative opportunities and building community through the arts. Exhibitions include both student and professional artists. Funds solicited will be used for general gallery upkeep and improvement including mobile wall units, lighting, hanging materials and paint. We are also soliciting funds to provide honorariums to visiting artists for gallery talks, workshops, classroom presentations, and other activities engaging students and the public. AP Information Corner: Students and parents please do not forget to that Dec 31 id the last date that you will receive a partial refund for any cancelled AP tests. Also, as we approach the new semester, please keep in mind that AP Macro students should have enrolled in their classroom, indicated if they will be taking the test, and have paid for it by Jan 15, January 31 will be the last day for partial refunds for AP Macro test. You can find this information on the AP registration Website.
Real World Learning Corner:
Happy Holidays, I hope that everyone has an opportunity relax over the break. While relaxing , don’t forget to browse the various opportunities available for Real World Learning Experiences including work-based learning opportunities, internships, and summer enrichment programs such as St Albans School of Public Service. The St Alban’s application process is competitive choosing 40-45 rising seniors from around the country. Selected students will spend four weeks this summer in the heart of Washington, D.C., meeting Supreme Court justices and members of Congress and dissecting today’s pressing public policy issues. Alongside about 45 peers from around the country and the globe, you will be challenged to learn about the exciting world of public service, improve your public-speaking and critical-thinking skills, and begin to explore potential college and career paths.
