Transportation update
We continue to work on arrival and dismissal procedures to ensure student and staff safety as well as efficiency. With the first weeks under our belt we are seeing things run more smoothly.
Here are reminders about arrival and dismissal procedures:
- Morning Bus: if your student rides the bus to school, please make sure that you are at least 10 minutes early to the bus stop. Routes may take longer during the first few weeks, so please be patient. If you have concerns about your bus route/pickup locations or times, please contact the district transportation at: 763-506-1125.
- Afternoon Bus: Students will be placed on their bus at the end of the school day. Please know that buses may be delayed up to 30 minutes during the first few weeks. If you have questions or its been longer than 30 minutes since your student's scheduled drop off time, please contact the bus company (First Student Champlin) at: 763-421-5785.
- Parent Drop Off: When dropping your student(s) off at Monroe, please follow our parent drop off procedures. Cars will line up along Brookdale Drive and be waved into the front drive, eight cars at a time. Please be sure when you pull into the drive that your student is ready to get out of the car (ie all items are in backpacks).
- Parent Pick Up: When picking up your student(s) at Monroe, please follow our parent pick up procedure. Cars will line up along Brookdale Drive and you will display your family parent pick up number. Eight cars will be waved into the front drive and students will be loaded into your car.
- Walkers: If your student is a walker, please make sure that you know which way they will be walking out. Here are the two ways walkers are dismissed:
- Front Door: students will be escorted out of door one and walked to the crossing guards.
- Back Door: students will be escorted out of door 5 and either follow the long path to Meadowwood Drive or the side path to the neighborhood.
