Book Fair- May 10-13
Book Fair is COMING next week!! Make sure you are stocked up on books for summer reading!! The best part - everything is buy one, get one free!! You can set up an e-wallet for your child to shop with here https://www.scholastic.com/bf/wernerelementaryschool
Fair hours are:
Tuesday May 10th after school 3:30-5:00
Wednesday May 11th before school 8:00-8:45
Thursday May 12th after school 3:30-5:00
Friday May 13th before school 8:00-8:45
And all students can shop on their lunch breaks any day Wednesday - Friday.

Medication Pick-Up
IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL:
Please make a plan to pick up your child’s health room medications no later than 12:00 pm on Wednesday, May 25. You may pick them up earlier in the week if you would like to. Medications cannot be sent home with a student and must be picked up from the health room by a parent or guardian. State and district guidelines require that any medication not picked up by the end of school be disposed of and cannot be retrieved after disposal. If you have any questions, please contact:

Kindergarten Registration is Open!
Registration for kindergarten is now open, start here.
Kindergarten is an exciting and important first step on your student's educational journey. In PSD, you'll find students are supported in many ways with caring teachers and staff, positive school, and classroom culture, as well as a collaborative, safe and welcoming learning environment.
Kindergarten offers:
- Small class sizes
- Structured, rigorous, play-based curriculum
- Kindergarten is free (all-day and half-day programs)
- Social and emotional learning experiences
Children must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2022 to be registered for kindergarten in the 2022-23 school year.

May the 4th Be With You! Penny Wars Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone that participated in our first Penny Wars. The kids had so much fun with the sabotage and we were able to raise over $1,500 towards the new piano for Music.
Teacher Appreciation
Thank you to all the volunteers that gave their time and donated towards the Teacher Appreciation weeklong celebration. The Werner Teachers and Staff do such an amazing job. We are so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community of Teachers and Parents!
Special Thanks to PTA Parent, Jenna Daniels, who planned and organized the themes for each day. She really “Raised the Bar”!
WE NEED YOU! Open 2022/23 PTA Board Positions
Secretary: Records the minutes of the PTA Board and membership meetings. Is prepared to read all minutes of the membership and Board meetings at any meeting. File and maintain all records of the PTA. Maintains a current membership list and files membership list with the State and National PTA.
VP of Programs and Events: Acts as the liaison between our program and event chairs and the board. Ensures that chair positions are filled, and chairs are supported by the PTA. Runs annual spirit wear drive.
VP of Fundraising: Acts as the liaison between the fundraising event chairs and the board. Ensures that chair positions are filled, and chairs are supported by the PTA. Is responsible for presenting fundraising options for the membership to vote on for the following year.

PSD Now Newsletter
One of many ways information is shared is through the PSD Now community newsletter, which features timely information about the latest happenings in the district. This is emailed to families and interested community members about every other Thursday.
Fueling up Kids with Free Summer Meals!
Summer vacation is right around the corner. Even though kids may not be in class, they can still power their minds and bodies with a nutritious meal. Poudre School District Child Nutrition is feeding kids this summer…for free! Any child, age 18 or younger, in Larimer County can receive free meals this summer from May 31 – July 29. There will be no meal service on July 4th.
Meals will be provided to all children at no charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination during the meal service. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

FREE & REDUCED MEAL PROGRAM
It’s not too late to apply for the Free & Reduced Meal Program for this school year. By doing so your student’s approval to the program carries over for the first 30 days of next school year. Also, there are advantages to being on this program with discounts given throughout our community for student summer programs. Check out fcgov.com/reducedfee website for more information. The before and after school program, AlphaBest, also gives a 15% discount. Apply on-line at www.myschoolapps.com. Please note that August 1, 2022 is the first day you can apply on line for the 2022-2023 school year. Families do have to apply each school year unless they receive a letter stating otherwise.
