A Note from Mrs. Williams
What another wonderful week at Schluter! This time of year is busy, so keep checking these weekly newsletters to know what is happening!
We hosted Kindergarten Round Up on Tuesday evening and were able to meet so many of our future Spurs! Thank you to those of you who joined us.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation! We know we have the best staff in the world, so we will be celebrating them everyday. Check out the graphic below from PTA with some fun ideas on how to thank your student’s teachers. And don’t forget to dress up like a Tacky Tourist on Wednesday for some mid-week fun!
You might also notice some fencing around our playgrounds. We are excited that the district is adding some new equipment and changing out the wood chips for a rubber surface. With this comes some construction, so we ask that you please do not enter the fenced off areas.
We still have our Field Day fundraiser open, so please consider donating to help make that day a memorable event for our students. Check out the information below.
PTA is hosting their End of Year Glow Party tonight from 6:00PM – 8:00PM in the gym and cafeteria. Please park and enter through the back of the school and remember students must be accompanied by an adult. We hope you can make it to celebrate this fantastic school year!
Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Williams
Enrollment is now open for all children – pre-kindergarten and up – whether they are currently enrolled, returning to the district after leaving or brand new to Northwest ISD. For families of currently enrolled students returning next year, the process will take just a few minutes with the following quick, three-step process. Learn more or begin the enrollment process at www.nisdtx.org/enroll.
Early voting is here
- Bond Website
- Early voting is underway for May 6 elections, including Northwest ISD's bond and school board elections, which account for six questions on the ballot for voters who live within the school district's boundaries. For information about polling locations and dates, visit this webpage.
Voters can learn about items in each bond proposition at www.nisdtxbond.org, and they can read candidate filing information for this election on the district's elections webpage. Our school district only posts required filings as we cannot advocate for or oppose any candidate, and all information on our website must remain strictly factual about the election.
SchoolMed telehealth available for district students
Bond proposal would add room for 8,400 students

- WHAT'S HAPPENING IN NISD -
Beginning May 1 - no charges will be added to any meal account.
What this means:
• All meal accounts MUST have funds on the account OR cash must be used to purchase any meals or a la carte (ALC) items.
• A courtesy meal will be offered if a meal account does not have sufficient funds, or the student does not have cash.
• If a meal account is zero or has a negative balance, regardless of the amount, funds must be added to My School Bucks (https://www.myschoolbucks.com/). Note: it can take up to 48 hours for added funds to be posted to your account.
• Items can be purchased with cash.
• If a meal account has funds, no action is needed. This only applies to zero or negative balance accounts.
Family Survey results now available online
Questions that resulted in a dissatisfaction score of 10% or more serve as growth opportunities for the district, and leaders will examine these areas for improvement. Some examples of areas for growth include responses to negative student behaviors and bullying. District leaders are already analyzing this data and planning improvements.
Transfer application window open through May 15
Northwest ISD allows families to request transfers to another campus for the next school year during a window that opens annually on April 1. Transfers requests are subject to the capacity of a campus, as several schools are closed to transfers because they are near or over their designed student enrollment.
Summer opportunities available in Northwest ISD
Making plans for the summer? Northwest ISD’s athletic and fine arts camps as well as enrichment opportunities are being posted for the summer at www.nisdtx.org/summer.
Reminder: Use MyShoolBucks for school meal accounts
