A Message from Principal Stephens
Dear Patterson Families,
Each year Patterson Elementary partners with the PRIDE community to support CUSD families through our holiday tradition, the Snowflake Giving Tree. This year, our Patterson 5th grade students are coordinating this generous Pay It Forward project. The Snowflake Giving Tree will be located in the Patterson office and decorated with snowflakes. Each snowflake will indicate either a gift card or toy for a child ages birth - 18 years old. You can donate any new toy for any age and any gender. If your family wishes to participate, please select a snowflake(s) from the Giving Tree which will be in the reception area of the Patterson office. Purchase any new toy for any age and attach the snowflake to the unwrapped gift/gift card you have purchased and return it to the office.
Gifts collected will be dispersed to Chandler students via the Chandler Care Center’s Holiday Toy Drive event. All donated items support families in the Chandler Unified School District.
Important Dates:
Snowflake Giving Tree runs from November 27th through December 11th .
Return unwrapped gifts or gift cards to the office by December 11th
Over the past six years, Patterson has contributed over 800 gifts to the Care Center’s toy drive. We encourage all to participate and thank you for your generosity – working together, the PRIDE staff and community provides inspiration and holiday kindness for those in need.

"Children are made readers on the laps of their parents." - Emilie Buchwold
Fall is such a fun time of year to read with children. Through books we experience changing seasons, being grateful and generous, and we laugh together. I never tire of seeing the looks on their faces as I read... even the older ones!
Did you know you have free access to fun e-books through the public library? You can link apps on your device to your library card where you can check out free e-books and audiobooks. The best part is you can put your favorites on hold and get notified when they are available. No more worrying about finding popular titles in stock when you go! Visit my webpage for more information: Patterson Library
Another exciting bit of news is that your Patterson students all have access to World Book Online through their Clever logins! What makes this better than "Googling" is that the information is kid friendly, appropriate, and even shows students how to cite the source. Hopefully this will be helpful with those "at home projects."
With the holidays, this quarter is going to fly by. Here are some upcoming library dates to make note of:
2nd quarter (celebrating October, November, December birthdays) Birthday Book Club invitations will go out just before Thanksgiving break and will be due back by December 5.
Our spring book fair will be held February 9-16 this year. This is different than the past, so I'm giving advanced notice. What better way to say "I love you" during Valentine's week than with a book? ❤️
Donations for the Health Office
Our Health Office is in need of gently used boy shorts in any size, but specifically size 5 and 6.
Thank you.
Tax Credit Donations
Tax credit donations can be made anytime and can be credited to your child's extra curricular activity fees. The tax credit reduces your tax burden to the state of Arizona, dollar for dollar. It also reduces your taxable income to the federal government.
Our school uses tax credit donations for enrichment opportunities such as fieldtrips, assemblies, art masterpiece, clubs and many other activities.
To donate, visit the tax credit donation page on our CUSD website: Click Here or contact Shelley Krason, office manager at Patterson Elementary for more information and/or to donate at the school by cash or check. 480-224-3607; krason.shelley@cusd80.com
Thank you so much for your support of Patterson Elementary Students.
