What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
Happy Friday!
We hope you had a wonderful week! We can't believe it is already October! We are thrilled to share that over 90% of our families have selected the hybrid option! For those families that are staying full remote, rest assured we will work hard to make sure your children continue to be and feel included, are engaged, and receive the quality education that our teachers provide. We are 100% dedicated to OLIVE our students!
We continue to plan for our hybrid students to return to the building. Please see the UPDATED Hybrid FAQ document below. We have updated our arrival procedures and where each grade-level will enter the building to help maintain social distancing. We also updated Art Supplies. We have noted updated information with the date and the color blue so that you can just skim the document to find new information.
Yesterday, we sent an email welcoming you to join our "Town Hall" event for families. This is an opportunity to ask any questions that we may not have answered just yet. We will be hosting this on Monday, October 5th, from 5:00 P.M.-5:45 P.M. Please use the link below to join us.
As a reminder, next week is a short week. Students will only have remote learning on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week.
In continued collaboration,
Erin, Julia, and the OMS Staff
Medications for 20-21 School Year
Medication for This School Year
As we are set to begin Hybrid In-Person Learning, it is important to note that all medication requests must be renewed each school year. All medication administered at school (including over-the-counter medication) requires a completed Medication Administration Form with physician and parent signature. We cannot accept medication without an updated medication form.
Asthma inhalers
All inhaler requests require a parent signature and a photocopy of the prescription label from the inhaler box placed on the Asthma Inhaler Permission Form. In addition, legislation directs school districts to request an Asthma Action Plan for all students with asthma.
Food Allergy Emergency Medication
All food allergy emergency medication requests (epinephrine and antihistamines) must be renewed each school year. Required forms include Illinois Food Allergy Emergency Action Plan, Lunch Table Preference Form, and the Annual Severe Allergy Survey.
Please provide medication as ordered by your physician (i.e. if the provider orders liquid, provide liquid form) and please check expiration dates of medication. No expired medication will be accepted.
Please submit all medication(s) and completed form(s) for this school year to the Olive Health Office on:
- Monday, October 5th 8:15am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-3:45pm
- Tuesday, October 6th 8:15am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-3:45pm
- Wednesday, October 7th 8:15am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-3:45pm
- Thursday, October 8th 8:15am-1:00 pm
