MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. MARY MARCONI, BUILDING SECRETARY AT KINSNER ELEMENTARY
Mrs. Mary Marconi has worked in our District for 20 years, spending time at several elementary schools, Albion Middle School, and Strongsville High School, before landing in her current position as Building Secretary at Kinsner Elementary. A resident of our community, both of Mrs. Marconi’s daughters graduated from Strongsville High School. If you’re driving around our city, you may see Mrs. Marconi walking her dog - a favorite free time activity for her!
“I love interacting with the students and their parents. I enjoy watching them start in kindergarten and leave for the middle school as young adults. They bring such enthusiasm and wonder and teach me something new each day. I absolutely love what I do and am fortunate to have the best of all worlds, interacting with students, parents, and staff. Each group has its unique challenges, but it keeps me busy! I get to be a ‘mom’ to over 600 students and staff! Kinsner is very welcoming and I am blessed every day to be here,” said Mrs. Marconi.

MR. JENKINS - SHS ENGLISH, DRAMA, & THEATRE TEACHER - APPEARS ON THED TALK PODCAST
Mr. Jenkins, English, Drama, and Theatre teacher at Strongsville High School, was recently interviewed for a “THED Talks” podcast. This podcast series features theatre teachers and theatre education students from around the country. The episode covered a variety of topics including creating a culture of community, designing new curriculum, and recognizing and celebrating the impact of theatre teachers. SUPPORT SIMB THROUGH FUNDRAISERS WITH DAIRY QUEEN
Dairy Queen has teamed up with Strongsville Instrumental Music Boosters (SIMB) to raise money for the instrumental programs in our District. Students involved in the instrumental music programs at SHS will be selling coupons for Blizzards at $5.00 (regular price of $5.29) or cakes at $20.00 (regular price of $25.99). Strongsville Lacrosse Youth Days (4/2 & 4/9)
Join in the fun as everyone is invited to youth days at Strongsville High School Lacrosse matches in April. The girls event will be held on Saturday, April 2 and the boys event follows on Saturday, April 9. Enjoy the JV and Varsity SHS matches, along with youth games and activities for kids of all ages. Both events will be held on Serpentini Field at Pat Catan Stadium. Girls Varsity battles Bay High School at 12pm on 4/2, with family activities beginning at 10am. Boys Varsity takes on Perrysburg High School at 2pm on 4/9 and activities beginning at 12pm. Enjoy two great weekends of Mustangs spirit with Strongsville Lacrosse!
ATHLETIC BOOSTERS CALENDAR RAFFLE - WIN PRIZES THROUGHOUT APRIL!
The Strongsville Athletic Boosters will be selling Calendar Raffle tickets throughout the month of March. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from an SHS student-athlete or HERE. Raffle drawings begin April 1st, with a winner chosen each day throughout the month of April! Over $3,500 in prizes will be given away! Proceeds benefit Strongsville's athletic program and student-athletes.
ROCKIN’ AT SMS DANCE (FRI. 4/1)

Strongsville Women’s League Art Contest
Strongsville Women’s League is holding an art contest for Strongsville residents currently enrolled in grades K-5th Grade. Have you ever thought about what makes your family yours? What are the traditions that create great memories year after year? This year the Strongsville Women’s League wants to know what makes your family unique. Please create an image which shows your favorite part of being you in your family. “My favorite tradition is…”. Entries will be accepted March 14 - April 14 and can be dropped off in the main office at any elementary school. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for grades K&1, 2&3, and 4&5 students. Safe Sitter Class (Tues. 4/19)
Register now for the Safe Sitter Class scheduled for Tuesday, April 19 from 9am - 1:30pm in the Safety Town Building at the Strongsville Recreation Center complex. English as a Second Language. IN PERSON Thursdays & Fridays from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Aspire Greater Cleveland is once again teaching IN-PERSON classes to help non-native speakers learn English and validate their skills. Students must attend an ESOL/Citizenship orientation session before beginning ESOL or citizenship classes. Computer Classes
Cuyahoga County Public Library offers computer classes for beginners to advanced. Classes are currently being held in-person as well as some VIRTUALLY which requires a web browser and an internet connection. There is no additional software to download. Google Chrome is the recommended browser. A valid email address is required for registration. Registrants will receive an email with a link to join the class at least an hour before the start time. The Strongsville Branch Library is home to both Audio and Video Recording studios that can help you do just that! You must go through an orientation to use the spaces. In this virtual event Scout's Playlist, audience members will get to know the various personalities of Maycomb County through discussions of the contemporary music that Harper Lee's beloved characters would likely have listened to. We will listen to famous recordings and explore the historical, social, and political contexts for music representing Scout, Atticus, Calpurnia, Tom Robinson, and the Ewells.
