SIS dedicates "Buddy Bench" during each recess
Deputy D’s Danger Dodgers at SIS dedicated a Buddy Bench to their classmates during lunch recess on Thursday, January 4. A Buddy Bench is a designated seat in schools where children can sit if they need a friend. It stands out, promotes awareness, and helps prevent bullying. Children who want a friend to play or talk with can sit on the Buddy Bench. Danger Dodgers and other children are encouraged to invite them to join activities. Repeated use of the bench signals the need for support, prompting school staff to assist. The dedication of the Buddy Bench was made possible by Woodman Life Chapter 6 in Sheridan.
SIS "Green Out" for 4H
Winners for "The Greenest" in each grade level won some 4-H Swag! 3rd Grade-Vanessa and Chloe, 4th Grade-Carlie and Eva, and 5th Grade-Bella and Jackson. Great job!
Reminders
- Please do not allow your students to exit your vehicle in the morning drop off-line until you reach the sidewalk. For safety purposes, we want to be able to see all students as they exit cars.
- Please make sure water bottle have a secure lid, and they only have water in them.
- Please do not block the gate entry as you come into the car rider line. Please move to the far left and fill up all rows.
- Please pull all the way forward in the morning and afternoon car line. This allows more cars in the parking lot and less traffic on the street.
