Homecoming 2023
GO TIGERS!
With the BIG game against Flushing coming up on Friday, we would like to remind you of a few things. As you know, it's the Homecoming game so a big crowd is expected. Below are a couple of rules from the high school administration:
1. Students are not allowed to bring backpacks into the stadium
2. MS Students are not permitted without an adult
We would also like to remind our awesome students that when attending high school games they are representing AGS. We expect our students to be on their best behavior, be respectful, and enjoy the game.
Thank you!

Socktober 2023
Socktober is a campaign to collect socks for kids who are in foster care in our area. We have a local organization called Clara's Hope who supports local foster and adoptive families. One of the things that Clara's Hope does is put together First Night Bags for kids who enter foster care. Many kids who are placed in foster care, do so in an emergency situation and are removed from their home without things they need. Items that go into a First Night Bag include (all new items) socks, underwear, pajamas, toothbrush and other toiletry items, soft blanket or stuffy, coloring book/crayons or a journal/pen for older kids, etc. Things that make their first night in a strange place a little less scary.
There are donation boxes located in the main office and throughout AGS. Donation boxes will also be on hand during parent teacher conferences.

Next Week's Theme: Other People Mindset
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
When you’re with other people, you’re
present and give them your full attention.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
When you are present and give your
attention to others, you are able to build
strong relationships. Relationships are the
cornerstone of health, happiness, and
resilience. You can’t build positive
relationships without attention, so it is
important to put down distractions and
truly listen to people when they are
talking.
“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the
future, concentrate the mind on the present
moment.”

Middle School Health Curriculum
*The communication, below, was sent in a separate email on Wednesday, August 30 *
We have changed the format in which our Health Curriculum will be delivered. The curriculum will be delivered, by PE/Health teachers, in SRT class throughout the school year. This will begin on September 12 and will continue until the end of the year. The teachers will teach approximately 4 lessons/units for 30 minutes during SRT. Attached below is a health letter that contains more information. Additionally, a health waiver form is attached. The waiver is only required for those who choose to OPT OUT of the district mandated health class. Students will receive a copy of the letter and waiver 2 weeks prior to taking health class. If you choose the OPT OUT option, please return the waiver before health class begins. You may print the form attached to this email and return it to the main office at any time or complete/return the form when your student receives it 2 weeks prior to class. There are also additional copies in the main office. We will be posting updates in the AGS NEWS, including a schedule of when the class will be taught in your child's SRT.
Please contact the main office (810 591 7700) with any questions. Thank you!

AGS Pick Up/Drop Information
DROP OFF / PICK UP LOOP
We realize that school drop off and pick up loop procedures are not the most convenient. However, please understand that the safety of AGS students will always be our first priority. The current procedure is considered to be the safest approach as endorsed by the Fenton Police Department and County Traffic Engineers. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during the morning and afternoon drop off/pick times.
Things to remember:
- The loop off of Shiawassee is for PARENT drop off / pick up
- Students may be dropped off across Donaldson Drive
- There is a crossing guard at Donaldson Drive during drop off and pick up
- There are over 2000 students arriving and departing in the same vicinity (AGS/FHS)
- The Donaldson (front) Loop and Entrance is for Bus Traffic Only
- After 7:30 AM, please drop students off at the front entrance (off of Donaldson Drive)
Thank you again for keeping our AGS Students safe! It could be worse ... check out the school below! Crazy Loop!!
