VPHS SPARTACON Recap
Written by: Alexander Tran
This Wednesday, Villa Park High School and its various programs and organizations displayed themselves to prospective students. In conjunction with other OUSD schools, Villa Park hoped to attract community members and incoming students to the event with the plethora of opportunities that we offer. In the gym, sports teams ranging from golf to football had tables where hopeful student-athletes could inquire about Villa Park High School’s athletic programs. Student organizations such as Best Buddies, Chinese Culture Club and the Table Tennis Club also had the opportunity to interact with prospective students in hopes of attracting future club members. Several programs performed throughout the night including the Marching Spartans Band, Choir, Color Guard, Theater, Dance and Cheer. ASB gathered potential Spartan parents and students for tours, introducing them to Villa Park High School’s amazing teachers and facilities.

Jaymison Medina - Head Cheer Coach & Instructional Aide
Written by Alexander Tran
Joining our Spartan family this year, Jaymison Medina currently works for Villa Park High School as head cheer coach and Special Needs Student Instructional Aide. Coach Jaymison is a product of OUSD schools, first attending Canyon and graduating from Villa Park in 2017. At both high schools, Coach Jaymison was heavily involved in cheer. She continued her passion for cheer by competing on an All Star Team throughout high school and college. Jaymison recently graduated from California State University, Fullerton where she majored in psychology. While attending CSUF, Coach Jaymison and her fellow cheerleaders won silver at the Cheerleading World Championships. This speaks to Coach Jaymison’s passion as a cheerleader, a drive she hopes to share with her students. Fun fact, Coach Jaymison is the proud owner of two cute cats, Ringo and Mila.
