iPad App Challenge
Self-paced PD to help you learn apps to use in the classroom
iPads are HERE and in a classroom near YOU!
As we are seeing more and more iPads popping up in our schools, we are always looking for new apps and ways to use them with our students. We thought this would be a good way to introduce you to new apps and allow you to learn them at your own pace!
While the iPads are great for skills practice, there is SO MUCH MORE students can do with them!
Here's how it will work:
Who: Anyone who has an iPad they can use with students!
What: This is a self-paced “flipped” type of PD to help you learn apps to use in your classroom
When: There will be a new challenge each week!
Where: Learning takes place whenever/wherever you want! Then, use the app with your students!
Details:
We will provide you with a paper iPad poster to display outside your classroom door. There will be spots for 20 apps. Each week, we are going to launch a new challenge for you to earn apps to place on the poster outside your classroom.
You do not have to do the challenge in that specific week - you may want to wait until later ... or it just may not interest you! Totally up to you! After you’ve used the app with your students, you will submit something to me to show completion. Sometimes it will be a screenshot from an iPad, an email with a link, etc. Completion of the challenge will earn you a badge on your iPad for the school to see!
In addition to becoming more comfortable with the iPad, we will be offering CEUs for the completion of challenges. My goal for each of you is to earn AT LEAST 50% of the badges by the end of the year... I KNOW you can do it!
This is an EXCITING time to be an elementary teacher and student in Iredell-Statesville!
App Challenges
As a Challenge is issued, the wording below will become an active link to that week's challenge. (We will add more along the way!)
