A Letter From Principal Mills.....
Dear Bridgeport Families,
I am reaching out today with an important reminder. Students are not allowed to use cell phones or smart watches at school. Recently, smart watches have been creating distractions for students and causing confusion for school staff when students communicate directly with families regarding transportation plans or illness.
We will be reminding students about our rules for smart watches. The first time a student uses it at school, they will be reminded not to. The second time, the teacher will ask to hold their watch for the remainder of the day. If a student uses their watch a third time, we will work with the student’s family to create a plan for storing the watch in the student’s backpack or in the teacher’s desk during the school day.
Smart watches are a great tool for communicating with your students, but please ensure students know that they are not allowed to use them during school hours. If possible, please adjust the settings so that they cannot be used from 7:45-2:20. Thank you for your help with this! Please reach out if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jordan Mills
Principal

Atentamente,
Jordan Mills
Directora

Value Grid inspired by Taylor Gordon Celebrating Black History Month
After learning about the Contemporary paintings of 17-year old artist Tyler Gordon, students will explore a key art element used in Tyler’s black, white and grey artwork - Value. During their specials class on Friday, February 9th, students will create a value grid using three colors to explore value scale or shading colors. At age 10, Tyler Gordon found a voice in art and has since painted some of the most celebrated people of our time.
