Letter from Mr. Nelson
Cougar Nation!
We are in possession of copious amounts of spirit. Yes, we are. We have ample energy. Do you have any heart? (dang, Grammarly…let me turn it off)
WE GOT SPIRIT! YES, WE DO! WE GOT SPIRIT, HOW ‘BOUT YOU!
That’s right, Smallville; we have the above and will show it off this Thursday during our first Pep Rally of the school year. We are excited to showcase our cheerleaders, amazing dance team, and world-famous band, all supporting our student-athletes. This will be the first Pep Rally for our 6th and 7th-grade pad-wans and 8th-grade students. Wow!
To make every Cougar’s inaugural Pep Rally the Pep Ralliest it can be, we will host two of them in our gym Thursday morning. We will start with the 6th-grade Pep Rally at 8:20 a.m. and then follow it up with a combined 7th and 8th-grade Pep Rally at 9:25. This being a HUGE deal, we are going to live-stream the 7th and 8th-grade Pep Rally via YouTube Live. We will send a link to all of Smallville on Wednesday so all can participate in this important and fun event. We know your students will enjoy cheering each other on and hope you get to as well from the comfort of your home, office, coffee shop, or cabana. We do not suggest viewing the event while driving as we’re sure the sheer excitement could lead to any number of accidents.
Early Release on Friday, October 7th:
This Friday, all students on campus will be released at 2:30. The district is bestowing our teachers an extra hour to plan, prep, and analyze data from the first nine weeks of school. School will start at the usual time, and it will still be a B-day, but all students will be dismissed from campus at 2:30 exactly. Please plan accordingly.
Humanity reminder:
Now a reminder to all who are reading. It is hard to be a person in this world. Maybe not as much for you, but for some people, You must be patient, kind, and understanding. Do not assume the worst, and always do what you can to help. Things are hard enough in this world, and we do not need to make it harder for them or ourselves.
Enjoy your weekend!
