Jr. High Youth Day 2023
Saturday, March 11
Go Forth: Jr. High Youth Day 2023
There is no cross, big or small, in our life which Jesus does not share with us. He wants us to go to him. He wants to be in relationship with us. Now is the time for young people to form that relationship with Jesus! Balancing home, school and social life can be challenging.
How does a young person learn to live out their catholic faith while dealing with social pressures, personal identity and social media challenges? This Jr. High Youth Day event could be the answer or at least a stepping stone for a young person.
The Jr. High Youth Day is a one-day event for all students in grades 6-8th. This youth day event is an opportunity for the youth to explore their faith and grow deeper in relationship with Christ through music, prayer, and talks. All talks, small and large group breakout sessions are prepared by the keynote speakers and high school leaders.
WHEN: Saturday, March 11th, 2023
WHERE: St. Jude Gym & Roncalli High School
TIME: 3:30pm - 9:30pm
WHAT IS INCLUDED: A day of self- growth, a better understanding of self, a day to reflect on the path we are on and how God can help us along the way. All students will attend mass and receive dinner. Students who register BEFORE March 2nd will receive a shirt as well.
How can I go?
All students in grades 6-8 are welcome to attend, but you must register with a parish. If your youth ministry isn't coming, or you don't see your link below, ask your youth minister how you can get involved or email Maureen Hutt @ mhutt@nativityindy.org
What does it cost?
$35 includes youth day experience, t-shirt and dinner!
Last day to register is March 2nd.
Check-in is at 3:30pm in the gym AT St. Jude
Breakout Sessions and Topics
When you register (below) you will be able to choose your top 4 breakout sessions.
Take a look here to see what the topics are.
The Real Presence -- There are over one hundred Eucharistic Miracles recongnized by the Catholic Church with some quite literally tasting human flesh or blood, or both. Why does this sometimes happen?
Friendship. Dignity. Legacy -- Everyone wants to have meaningful relationships, but how do we form and keep them no matter the distance? In this breakout, you will learn how to make and keep friends that will be everlasting!
Love is -- Our world skews the vision that Christ had for love of one another. Come see where you fit in that vision!
Prayer for Beginners -- "Eating keeps your body alive, and prayer keeps your soul alive. Praying is more important than eating because your soul is more important than your body..."
How to use TIK TOK and Be Catholic -- Is it okay to use TIK TOK? How do we responsibly use social media and follow Jesus? Join us for a discussion on phone use, distraction, and living our Catholic faith.
Adoration -- Have something that is weighing on your mind? Do you need to ask for forgiveness? Do you want to feel a sence of peace? Then spend some close time with the Blessed Sacrament. Just you and Jesus.
Gratitude - An Essential Part of Faith -- Thankfulness or gratitude is not just for Thanksgiving Day. Although practicing gratitude is scientifically proven to be healthy, it is more than that. It is an essential part of our faith. Come to this breakout to talk about why gratitude is so important and to learn some practical tips on how to incorporate it into our everyday life.
Holy Name Graduates of 2022, SAVE THE DATE! We’d love to see you at our Alumni Mass on February 12th. Feel free to bring a friend!
