NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 3 | 26 OCTOBER 2023
“O, God. We thank you for teachers whose heart is of gold.
Please be their shield while they guide us with wisdom.
Watch over them as they fulfill the tasks you have trusted them with.
Be their light in uncertain times. Amen.”
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Kindy Grand Parents and Friends Day yesterday was a great success. There were many
grandparents and friends interacting with the Kindy children and enjoying the company of the other grandparents and friends. Many thanks to the P&F volunteers who organised the morning tea. It was an outstanding effort.
Congratulations to Mr Chatt and our Interschool athletics team for winning the Interschool trophy for the fourth year in a row. It was a terrific effort by everyone, and I was very impressed with the sportsmanship exhibited by all the students. A special acknowledgement goes to several individuals who were year group runner up or champion.
A big thank you to the P&F volunteers who helped organise the disco last Friday night.
The format worked well, and the children had a great time.
A reminder that the P&F AGM and the SAC ACM will be held on Monday, 6 November. The P&F
AGM will start at 6:00pm followed by the SAC ACM. There will be no elections this year as the current positions will remain filled from last year’s elections.
We have several staff leaving us at the end of the year. Mrs Ogg, Mrs Seaber and Mrs Barth will be taking up positions at other schools in 2024. We wish them well and thank them for their professionalism and service to St Columba’s.
Just a reminder that some school fees are still outstanding and will need to be finalised prior to the end of the school term.
God Bless.
Allen McMahon
Principal

All Saints Day / All Souls Day
On All Saints' Day, November 1st, we celebrate all saints who are in heaven. These include all known and unknown saints. It is a holiday rooted in the belief that the world is spiritually connected to heaven. All Saints' Day is considered a holy day of obligation, requiring Catholics to attend Mass.
Our Year 1-6 students will attend Mass at 9am on Thursday, 2 November to celebrate this special day, led by our Year 4 team. Parents are always welcome to attend.
Just as All Saints Day celebrates all the saints who have made it to heaven, All Souls' Day (Nov 2) honours those who have gone before us.
P&F News
Hi everyone,
A MASSIVE thank you must go to our incredible Year 5 and Pre-Primary parents who organised a fabulous disco for all the children. Wow, what a night!
Our reps Louise Valerio, Catherine Rogers, Michelle Weldon, Maree Ferguson, Giovanni Iozzi with the support of Brooke Pink and a number of amazing parents dedicated months of their time into the planning and execution of what was a successful evening. Thank you ladies, your efforts are definitely appreciated.
Yesterday we kicked off the first of our two Grandparents Day events. Our Kindy classes spent the morning celebrating with class activities and a beautiful morning tea put on by the P&F. We can’t wait for tomorrow's big event for the remainder of the school. Our Kindy families have worked so hard pulling this together, we are so lucky.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
