Congratulations to the Speech and Debate Team for another fine finish at Poland on Saturday, December 3. Junbei Chen finished 3rd in Oral Interpretation of Literature at her first attempt in the event. Jocelynn Ridley came in 4th in Varsity Debate. The big news was that Daisy Sweatt finished 1st in the top debate division. Together Jocelynn and Daisy earned a 3rd place team Sweepstakes trophy also. Well done!
This photo includes the 3 with their "trophy IOU's" since the nutcracker's that Poland usually gives out did not arrive in time.
The Debate Team's "legal mentor", Mike Dunn '09, was there as a judge (doing some AG Office work too in the photo) and proved very helpful to them when preparing for the tournament.
