Additionally, the state of Minnesota uses a school district’s percentage of qualifying students from applications completed and approved prior to October 1st each year to calculate each district’s funding level. School district funding impacts every student in the following ways:
- Class sizes
- Number of support staff the district can hire to help scholars (counselors, social workers)
- Extra programming opportunities
Please fill out the Educational Benefits Application today to take advantage of these and other benefits!
The information collected from this form also helps the North View school community by providing additional academic support (reading and math interventions), field trip opportunities, technology supports, access to county resources, and free breakfast and lunch while at school.
You may recall that you have previously filled out this form, but each school is required to have families complete the form every year with updated information. Please complete this application by following one of the steps below.
Online through SmartSchoolK12 – This option will create a family account allowing online access to view meal accounts and pay online for meals.
Online at this link – This option will bypass making a family account and allow you to fill out the form.
Complete a paper copy of the form. Forms are available at North View Middle School in the main office or in the cafeteria with the kitchen staff.
October Conferences
Thank you to everyone for attending our planning conferences in August. Our goal was to allow you to meet the staff, see the school, and receive an overview of class expectations and the year's curriculum. Coming up next for you is our first trimester conferences. Our in-person conferencing experience will be held on Tuesday, October 17th, and Thursday, October 26th from 3:00-7:00 pm.
During this time you will be able to:
Meet each of your child's teachers.
Review classroom objectives and goals.
Discuss how your child is progressing in class.
If you are unable to attend or would like to view your child's progress ahead of time, please login into Schoology or ParentVue.
* Spanish & Hmong Translators will be available.

Building a Better Future, Phase II
Building a Better Future, Phase II: Critical school building projects proposed for district schools in Maple Grove
In this final week of sharing proposed Building a Better Future, Phase II projects by area, we’re heading to Maple Grove. Critical school building needs would additionally be addressed at Maple Grove Senior High School, Maple Grove Middle School, and area elementary schools if the Nov. 7 ballot question is approved by voters.
Proposed projects for all Maple Grove schools within the district:
Adding additional safety and security enhancements.
Updating classrooms to accommodate varied learning needs, including special education, gifted/talented, and multilingual learner needs.
Updating classrooms and common areas with new furniture and flexible learning spaces.
Modernizing library media centers to better support teaching and learning needs.
Additionally proposed projects at Maple Grove Senior High School:
Enhancing the security features at the school’s main entrance (to reach district safety/security standards).
Due to rapid growth and development, classroom and cafeteria additions are proposed. This would reduce overcrowding and the number of students throughout the district who would need to move schools to address space constraints.
Expanding and modernizing career and technical education learning spaces.
Additionally proposed projects at Maple Grove Middle School and area elementary schools:
Due to rapid growth and development, an elementary school in northwest Maple Grove is proposed. This would reduce overcrowding and the number of students throughout the district who would need to move schools to address space constraints.
Expanding and modernizing science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) spaces at magnet schools (Brooklyn Middle STEAM School, Birch Grove School for the Arts, Weaver Lake: A Science Math & Technology School, and Zanewood Community: A STEAM School).
Adding an outdoor classroom to elementary and middle schools currently without such a space.
Learn more by attending a Community Informational Meeting at Osseo Senior High School at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 or Maple Grove Senior High School at 6 p.m. on Oct. 11.
