Happy New Year!
As we ring in the new year, I am reminded of some common resolutions that people make - eat healthier, spend more time with family, read more books. One thing that always seems to be at the center of a resolution is the wish to improve or grow. This resolution mentality is perfect for us at Patrick Henry, because we are always growing and working towards improvement. As a staff, we always want to become the best educators we can be. We want to serve our students, our families, and our community to ensure everyone can thrive. I hope that you come along with us for this next semester of not only academic growth, but also personal and professional growth as well. Thank you for returning for another semester of fun, learning, and community building. I know we will make 2020 the best year yet!

Jazz St. Louis Presents: Jazz for Young People
Thanks to our amazing Related Arts department, our upper elementary students were able to experience jazz first hand during a concert on Tuesday, January 7th. Mrs. Terrance arranged the visit and we were lucky enough to be selected by this amazing organization for the performance. Our students loved the experience, and we are so thankful to Jazz St. Louis for exposing our students to a beautiful form of self-expression. Take a look at some of the photos from the day.
Back in the Swing of Things
Our students came back to school ready to learn! This week we saw students get back into the routine of school, and though we started Monday morning with many sleepy greetings, we found our students ready to get back to work. We love the enthusiasm that they showed towards their work, and we know this will be another amazing semester of learning opportunities and growth!
Ikea Comfort
The new chairs in the Reading Room appealed to our youngest students in Ms. Patti's classroom as they explored all of the amazing books!
Just the right fit
Reading should always be comfortable and fun - and what could be more fun than a snake couch and a brand new book?
Ms. Patti's Readers
Our preschool students each found a book to dive into when they entered the fun new space!
Kinesthetic Learning
Students were able to manipulate this sticky substance into letters and shapes. They were proud of their work and eager to show off!
Using Tech as a Teaching Tool
Even on "Fun Fridays," Ms. Jones' students chose educational apps on their iPads!
Puzzlemania
Dr. Rogers is famously bad at puzzles and she was schooled by Ms. Jones' students this afternoon.
